100% with you about Ruby's age being the reason why she isn't full-time dark eyes. She was 12 when she reincarnated, so she basically got a fresh start. She's really acting like her current age now (a "clever" 16-year-old, but still a 16-year-old). That's why you feel (or want to feel) there's hope for her. Also, about Ruby playing Ai and Aqua playing their father being weird (brother and sister portraying lovers/murderer), I actually think it makes their revenge even stronger. The guy will sit down in a nearby theater thinking he'll get to act like a creep seeing Ruby (just like he was in the Episode 1 intro), and then realize the movie is about him killing Ai and it's being played by both his children. No way you wouldn't freak out.

Frill is just so naturally funny. 😂

On Christmas in Sweden, we watch "From All of Us to All of You" a Walt Disney Christmas special that includes many animated movies, among them, Steamboat Willie from 1928. Many people love it and look forward to watching them every Christmas. Though... Granted, this is more of a tradition than watching something old because you liked it so much. But it is technically a case of old movies being watched regularly. Just thought I'd share.

Nosferatu. 1922 is certainly something that I watched just a few months ago.

Man they'd love Hanekawa from the monogatari series for smart detective like characters

Ethereal

Monogatari is a show I push for in the anime polls. Other shows with smart characters: ID: Invaded, Psycho Pass, maybe the Kara no Kyoukai movie series. Obscure but Mouryou no Hako definitely fits.

I watched It Happened One Night (1934) a few months ago, it's a romantic comedy and it 's still very watchable! I would guess The Wizard of Oz (1939) is the oldest movie that is still culturally relevant in 2026.

PROTOTYPE

they would also love the inner monologues in Classroom of The Elite from ayanokouji . Hope they react to that anime in the future
