Btw guys does anyone have another source for watching the full version of Fate/Zero? The website we've been using is great as far as the subtitles and quality, but we've had some issues with reliability of whether or not it is up and able to be watched on any given day. If there's a backup site we can use when we can't get this one to play it'd be super helpful! Thanks y'all!

Holy Grail Wars starts every 60 years, so Rin would be a granny by the next one.

hmm , really like wes example of asking AI to save humanity.

To clarify about the sacrifice, you were right. Tokiomi‘s wish, to reach ‘the root’ , requires all 7 souls. Other wishes doesn’t necessarily require 7 souls.

In a way Maya and Irisviel shared the same fate, despite different origin. Irisviel was destined to die. She's just some flesh suit for the graal's vessel and have an expiration date. A litteral tool. By meeting Kiritsugu she got the opportunity to became a tool for something greater. Maya... is a normal human. But she's a bit like Kirei. Someone empty inside. Wihtout any desire. Becoming Kiritsugu tool is basically what gave her something to pursue.

Fmhy.net is a fantastic resource for finding good streaming websites! But when it comes to anime where we want you to see Blu-ray versions because they're uncut or have extra changes (Fate/Zero), the only consistent way is torrenting. Thewiki.moe has a great guide explaining how to torrent safely, and releases.moe is an amazing community driven website working to catalog the "best" releases for every anime, odds are if you're looking for a show that isn't currently airing, you'll find a safe and reliable torrent for whatever you're looking for on there.

Was easy to miss, in fact I didn’t realize this on my first watch, but they did mention that Irisviel is only like a year older than her daughter. I think she’s existed for 9 years? Since she’s an artificial human that was created by the Einzberns for this grail war ritual, and grew up isolated in their mansion, I think Kiritsugu was one of the only ones to teach her various things (like driving), but it makes sense that she would’ve been heavily influenced by his ideals in that time. Also the betrayal of Tohsaka was so easy to see coming, especially with the foreshadowing farewell scene to his daughter, but still painful to watch… betrayal by nature can only come from those you trust, so imagine the man you trust enough to leave as the guardian of your daughter is the man to literally stab you in the back. I didn’t like Tokiomi either but painful to see someone go through nonetheless. 😓

I generally use torrenting for all of my anime needs these days because these resources are so amazing, I specifically remember struggling to find streaming sites that had the Blu-ray versions of the show I wanted to watch just like you guys. The disk space could be an issue especially for Fate/Zero because video files can get HUGE when you don't want to sacrifice quality, a good work around for this is simply downloading 1 or 2 episode at a time and deleting them afterward! It might take a bit of effort to learn, but I promise you it's worth it (especially with a loud and passionate audience like fate fans). A big upside to torrenting is never having to worry about buffering!

If you're comfortable with torrenting, nyaa.si is used by pretty much everyone in the community, and will always be the best way to get the highest quality video files. https://nyaa.si/view/1382067 is the most downloaded Fate/Zero torrent on the site, and also links to reputable Unlimited Blade Works and Heaven's Feel torrents for the future.

You guys are completely misunderstanding the lore and celebrating his death for the wrong reasons. Tokiomi NEVER knew what Zouken was going to do to Sakura. In his mind, he was saving her. Because he could only give the Tohsaka Magic Crest to Rin, Sakura’s immense raw power would have eventually gotten her kidnapped and dissected in a lab by the Mage's Association. To Tokiomi, the Matous were a prestigious, founding family. He honestly believed he was setting her up to become the head of a powerful bloodline. Was he an arrogant magus? Yes. But he had ZERO idea about the crest worms or the torture. He thought he was giving her the ultimate privilege.

Temojikato

I wouldn't say it's "wrong", they can experience it and feel however they do, it's subjective. I do agree they missed some stuff, so pointing that out seems important :)

Fabien

In principle that's pretty much it.

BCloud

It doesn't help that Tokiomi is being vague, well, not clear enough with his arrogance clouding his words lol

Infinite Winds

Tokiomi: Life as the second child of a magus is such pure misery it would be better to have them adopted away asap Also Tokiomi: Has a second child with his wife anyway, oops not my fault! Better make this someone else's responsibility

Shiroufan11

To be fair Tokiomi wouldn't have cared if Sakura was tortured by the Matous, as long as it lead to her becoming a powerful mage. He would only reject it since she was never going to be taught magic in the first place.

Thirded, please gatekeep to keep it safe thou

My question to this is what would it have taken Kariya to tell Sakura's mother or even Tokiomi of the things she was going through with the Matou family? Is there something missing in the anime adaptation? From my perspective their take on Tokiomi caring more about his family's status as a top mage family more than being a father to BOTH his children is fair.

Kindyh Bordat

First of all, yes the anime skipped some major things like Kariya hero complex. His ego lead him to want to save Sakuna himself and because a hero in the eyes of his beloved Aoi. And even if he told Tokoiomi, he couldnt do anything even if he wanted to, the matou where too powerful to deal with without extreme consequences. And for last, as a mage he could never be a good father for both his children, since one would be taken away anyways. What he did for him is what any good mage father would do.

NoSoupRice

ahh yes gatekeep websites. that will surely stop them. because crunchyroll employees don't know how to use google XDDD
