Have you guys ever wondered who killed everyone in the tower during Daniel crash-out? Only one person there is strong enough for that, it was probably Reid. Also, that happened when Subaru broke the rules by getting out. I'm guessing that's what happened again this time. Since his other personality defaced the tower by writing on the walls, a rule was broken and all hell was unleashed. (Miasma, Mabeast, Reid, ect...). Also You where right in part about Satella, she appeared when Subaru was at his weakest, and in her twisted mind wanted to give him release. Subaru actually felt in peace and let her consume his soul, that's why he was angry at Emilia when she pulled him out. (End note : No the gates (doors) have no link with the gates in the body. And his gate broke because of overused, it started when the dog bit him and made him use magic when he had no prior training to break the curse. Then with the White whale and finally against Garfield it shattered.)

It feels a little more ambiguous because of the format, but yeah, he didn’t get his memories back. It’s not really a spoiler. As to your Satella question the cut shadow garden scenes where after certain deaths Subaru has one on one time with her in the void. Subaru loves her there and not in a way where it seems like it’s magically induced. Subaru seems to subconsciously remember things in the shadow garden that make him act different that doesn’t carryover when he gets revived. He also doesn’t have a body when he’s in there but with each witch factor he materializes more and more. What does this all mean? It seems to point to the idea that there is a gap of memory that can’t be accounted for.

This episode debut as a 10/10 for All Shows! Only a few shows have ever done that, and it is currently in 2nd place behind Frieren for Anime! The best part- this season's peak is still ahead of it, and with 2 months for more episodes, hopefully it will continue to get positive reviews.

Thoughts i think when Subaru wanted to make sure he didn't exist I think the witch was going to get rid of return by death and basically end him but I also belive that setela is prob not evil just misguided. Also I don't think our Subaru is back i think he resolved him self to be the Subaru they think he is

Tanya the Evil Saison 2 start July 8. I think its a perfect time to pick it... there are only 12 episodes and a movie. Plus it would put another major character from Isekai Quartet to the list.

i think this is a mix between episode 1 Subaru with the motivation of episode 18, ep 1 because Subaru was empty even then but Emilia became his toxic anchor, instead of loving himself, all is world goes around Emilia, it doesn't make sense for Subaru to resolve is old trauma with this scene only, this confession help him trust them and motivated him

Do you want them to put on a performance? If something doesn't tug at the heart strings it's okay not to react emotionally, sometimes things just don't connect for people

Yeah! It's a really interesting show with a pretty unique setting and it's also very short. With Season 2 coming out soon, it's definitely worth checking out if you can fit it in. It's probably the most hyped show of the upcoming anime season, aside from maybe Mushoku Tensei Season 3.

Different mentalities, he had not that many reason to hate himself that much. And as i wrote it's one of the reason. Because in arc 7 there is a bigger reason why i dislike him but that would be spoiler. (Hint: Kid Ba)

Why are you so mad, buddy? If you ask me, it's pretty childish to be like that just because they didn't react to the episode the way you wanted them to. Different people have different tastes and opinions; not everyone resonates with the same stuff. I like the show and I think it's been a pretty good arc so far but personally, I don't think it's as good as people have been claiming over the last few weeks. I wouldn't even consider it the best episode of the season, let alone one the best episodes in all of anime. That's just my personal opinion. It's pretty obvious that they love Re:Zero if you pay attention to their reactions overall, so there's no need to get upset over something as trivial as this. Also, to answer the original question, they usually watch the openings later on to avoid spoilers.

Honestly, I don't even see why we should be emotional in that episode. I feel like we already went there with Subaru in previous seasons, it's like a repetition, sure it's a new Subaru but I don't feel that connected to him (I was hardly even to the normal Subaru, I always felt he had one the least interesting personallities in the show ; but well at least we had more time grow attached to old Subaru).

Except you aren't him. Maybe to you that's not a reason that would make you hate yourself (and good for you), but that's not necessarily the case for someone else? He still developed social anxiety and school phobia, so disliking ppl who hates themselves bcs their reasons wouldn't make you hate yourself that much is pretty fk up

I read a theory that it was reid somewhere here, honestly could be the case given the events of this episode, it could also be whoever was possessing rem's body (I'm like 100% certain it's gluttony just from the speech patterns and voice), shaula just deletes things though so probably not.

Well I think it’s time for the official alternative routes Subaru takes so you guys should watch echidnut on YouTube about the different sin routes Subaru takes and how it effects his future life they are official by the author they just haven’t been animated just yet and their like what would happen if Subaru had made different choices you can skip the lust one that was as a joke by the author and not the gluttony one because it’s a spoiler

i say suffa-baru losing memory here hit me really hard , if it s any other shounen mc , losing a memory is not that big of a deal since they have their own mc battle power to fall back on , you wont feel worry about them (no offense to shounen , i like bleach) subaru is different as we all know , he is solving all of these do or die problem only by talking/building bonds with other people , losing all of that is like US ourselve sunddenly being insert into subaru here , i am sure all of us would die a lot or even more than the new-baru here.
