I don’t have much of a preference, G-8 is solid filler - but it is filler, so could see people voting either way.

One PACE alternate cut made specifically for people who are going to watch One Piece G8. So watching this alternate cut and not watching G8 is not an option

I know how people generally feel when it comes to filler, but G8 is so good it could be made canon and no one would complain.

From what I know, the alternate cut is only a few minutes longer than the regular version, mainly to introduce the filler arc for anyone who wants to check it out. However, if you actually want to watch it, you'd still need to watch the original episodes. That being said, I do have a soft spot for G-8, so...

A little correction, One PACE alternate cut does not contain the G-8 filler, it simply includes the transition from Skypie to G-8, so it is for people that are going to watch it. I'd say G-8 is a little overhyped, just because is good filler, but if you like the characters and humor of One Piece, it's a fun watch.

Correct me if I'm wrong but I don't believe there is a One Pace G8, I think what you're referring to is the episode at the end of Skypiea which keeps more of the transition material for G8 should you wish to watch it from the original series onward.

I am learning from the rest of these comments that the alternate cut just includes the transition to G8 - so guess it doesn’t make much sense to have those as separate options since you’d have to watch the G8 episodes regardless, those are a package deal of sorts. Had never watched One Pace before though so this is news to me too - we learnin together!

allright imma be honest here, i have only read the manga, and i know lot of these people really like g-8 so if like 40% of the people want g-8, give them g-8. it's like 2-3 weeks and i kinda wanna see it to now.

1 and 2 should be combined because they don't really make sense as separate options. Either watch the One Pace G8 cut (which is basically just the last episode with slight changes to introduce the G8 arc) together with One Piece episodes 196-206 or just skip the G8 arc entirely. It should essentially be: Option 1: Watch G8 Option 2: Skip G8

Just a note, I do think you ought to consider the fact that you're splitting the vote on people who do want you to watch G8. the breakdown as I am typing this is 49 against watching at all, 22 for watching PACE version, and 29 for watching original version. Which means not watching wins by majority despite the fact that 51 percent do want you to watch some version of G8.

Nahhh. Honestly skip this and Long Ring Long Land entirely. LRLL is a comedy miniarc, I thought it was pretty funny. But very little relevance to the plot, even though it’s canon

It’s a bad idea to skip long ring long land. It’s the set up for a lot of stuff. Not liking a more heavy comedy focus does not make it bad.

Do not listen to the people saying to skip long Ring Long land. There is important stuff being set up even despite the heavy comedy focus of the arc which isn’t a spoiler. One Pace takes out all the bullshit pacing issues that existed in the anime adaptation caused by extra filler, making the arc short and sweet.

How are some people saying skip G-8?????????????? This is what one piece is all about. its about the damn crew and the characters and their interactions. This is one of those rare fillers where the studio made up for the author's lack of character vision.

You have your cause and effect backward. G8 is good *because* Oda's vision was clear before the episodes were written. It's not the other way around. You're right that "the damn crew and the characters and their actions" is what One Piece is all about. And we have 1000+ episodes to tell us that story, with Oda's pen, not some else's. A few extra filler episodes aren't required to give us this.

You are definitely not wrong on that point, but what I mean is Oda could have given us more slice of life crew every once in a while which are incredible moments, Sanji Zoro dynamics in some of the fillers or the way they mess around etc. I'm sure you see the overall wasted potential here and what I mean.

I don't know... I agree with you in principle, but then I wonder if I'd think the same thing about OP Fan Letter or LA or especially Film Red. I think there's more than just "canon" to consider. Like how much time is being invested outside canon, or how much involvement Oda had in the creation.

Nobody's making anybody do anything. This was a choice, a choice that popular vote agreed with. If anybody is being forced to watch anything, it's the weekly anime fans who were forced to watch hundreds of hours of skippable material like filler and padding and such.

I can't believe it! Reading these comments, I've already realized who skipped LRLL. How can they say it's filler when it's the arc that lays the groundwork for the next one, because the arc focuses more on the dynamics of the pirate crews and the characters Long Ring Long Land is canon and shouldn't be skipped, don't listen to those people, Besides, it's super short; the manga is only one volume, and One Pace is only eight episodes, but the anime has a lot of filler that extends the arc and people who haven't read the original they didn't end up liking it that much

To get into spoiler territory, there are things that it’s setting up it sets the precedent of the changing water levels they gets further explored in water seven. The Davy back fights that ended up having further narrative importance later on, and I’m assuming are going to be brought back for an endgame conflict. It’s admittedly subtle stuff and I’m not telling anyone to like it but I feel for a first time watch it’s best not to skip it re-watching is different.
