Mr. Bibinho

5 episodes??? We're being FED

yahdier

W One Piece

Hi_Hello

RIGHT after i finished cooking oh my god amazing timing

RCG

It's a pretty short arc and some of the episodes are kind of short too, so I guess we'll knock it out in one swoop. People are already waiting for W7.

Nostalgino MO

Im glad you guys finished this arc in one go , my thought are exactly like wes we didnt need to this whole thing , we gained nothing out of it and foxxy has zero leverage. I forgot aokigi's introduction is part of this arc, i hate his ass but its great episode to understand just how terifying the world government can be , its also kinda of funny , how many things you guys said in this video that would either age like milk or fine wine.

Eila

Yessss! My favourite arc is coming soon! I’ve been waiting for this

Adams

Lets goo!! Water 7 finally!

Oden

Almost everyone I know who started watching onepiece for the first time skipped long ring long land they just skip to the episode where aokiji shows up but it is good that you guys finished it in one video

The Anime Dude

Did I say that sky island was like the hidden level in a video game that they reached way too soon, & that Enel was an incredibly strong villain? Meant to say that Long Ring Long Land was like the hidden level in a video game that we stumbled upon way too soon, & that Foxy might be the strongest villain we’ve seen yet. If Luffy didn’t get the Afro power up I’m honestly not sure if he wins. My money is on Foxy for Pirate King, dude has a large/loyal crew, charisma, a strong devil fruit, & a recruitment strategy!

mogeki

Long Ring Long Land is such a good example of a silly arc being really, really important in retrospect. The incoming lore will go crazy, I promise you.

RCG

Not gonna lie, the fight against Foxy kinda dragged on and that's with One Pace, where all the stretched-out scenes are supposedly already cut.

RCG

Aokiji said that Luffy's grandpa helped him out a while back and since Roger died over 20 years ago, it's not very likely that he was referring to him. We also get to learn more about the Marines. The three Admirals are basically their strongest fighters and each one has a nickname/codename: Akainu ("Red Dog"), Aokiji ("Blue Pheasant") and Kizaru ("Yellow Monkey"). Above them is the Fleet Admiral, Sengoku. With Water 7, we’re finally starting to dive deeper into One Piece’s worldbuilding and lore.

Watching people watch the next couple arcs for the first time is a special privilege that I was surprised to enjoy as much as I do. I think Steph especially is really going to like the next one.

Billbob

Yeah, One Pace cut definitely made this a lot better and I actually liked it overall despite how frustrating it is. Always love afro luffy and seeing zoro+sanji actually work together for once, and not having to deal with the original anime's filler of having them do a rematch davy back fight for god knows what reason makes it so much better. Now on to a real saga, so excited. Been so long since I've read or watched W7

Nao

Regarding your question about If Zoro and Sanji always will disliking each other?, without spoilers, in this arc we see how they are able to work as a team and be a very strong duo ( As we saw, Zoro trusts Sanji for the first time and decides to ask him for help ). This arc lays the foundation for how their relationship and their roles on the team as a duo begin to progress. We even saw their relationship improve during their encounter with Aokiji, where they didn't fight and their priority was protecting Robin and going after Luffy. In the following arcs, we can continue to see this process of them gaining trust and respect for each other.

WATER 7!!! YES. I love this saga.

When I read some comments I just think for myself: "Is it that bad just to enjoy something without any major big impact? Was the arc necessary? No, but it still was fun with some nice comedy skits. Just have fun with the extra time between the heavy stuff." It seems everything is only good if it's efficient. Faster, no breather, only important stuff.

Gelondil

This arc has always reminded me of Wacky Races, the Hanna-Barbara cartoon from WAAY back in the day. Foxy even has vibes of the villain from that show. Having recently learned from other folks here that Enel is styled after Eminem, I did some sleuthing and confirmed that the Davy Back race is also inspired by Wacky Races!

Gopal

This arc is actually pretty enjoyable in onepace where it follows the manga. It's just a nice short arc that actually does a pretty good job at comedy. It's a nice moment of levity between the high stakes of enel and the end with aokiji. The original anime dragged it out so much with two extra games in a super contrived way plus dragging out all the canon stuff too.

Gelondil

The way you say this makes me think you don't see the perspectives of people who want to skip arcs. Nobody is saying anime viewing needs to be "efficient". The push to skip these arcs is excitement to get to the better arcs ahead, where One Piece is at it's best, not about rejecting fun for the sake of brevity. There's decades of good anime out there to watch, but we only have a limited time each week to enjoy it with Wes and Steph, so naturally people want to make the most of that limited time. ❤️

Kracksined Nicolas

ok now that you've seen aokiji i can say even if you didn't like it it was the point of the arc to point out the crew is currently not opperating at max capacity and layout the weeknesses (installing doubt about robin and showing nami and ussop can be guillible on top of being pretty week, zoro and sanji petty rivalry and luffy lacking in power and strategy for a guy with his bounty). We haven't been in the grand line for very long and things are starting to get serious and yes losing to an admiral (with a great fruit and mastery over said fruit) is understandable but being this close to losing to Foxy is f*cking laughable (but like, that's the point) Basically luffy and the crew need to lock-in now that we're done with the sidequests (love skypea but you know..)

S0ulSp4de

I can see their perspective, but I also see another perspective where someone wants them just to enjoy something without being told all the time that something better is waiting for them. Edit: A show needs highs and lows, so that the highs can shine a bit more. At least thats what I think and it's not like this arc specifically takes 50 episodes to watch.

ShadowMark

In the original manga the whole encounter took place on Long Ring Long Land, and Aokiji only froze the sea around the ring to help Tonjit get to the rest of his tribe, so probably not anywhere near as far as from one island to another. The anime did things differently, obviously, and although the One Pace team does a lot, (like taking out a ton of the Davy Back Fight(s) with Foxy), they can't recreate scenes that don't exist lol.

Jonesy

that last episode is so good. such a fantastic introduction to my favourite saga of the entire show

Kof_Art

Bruh I really really don't like this arc. T_T

Kof_Art

Can we perhaps get 2 posts per week? :) Pretty please.

Gelondil

Well, that revised complaint is about people's behavior, and to that we agree. I am not trying to defend the behavior of people who repeatedly come in here to demand "skip". I was only challenging your mischaracterization of the rationale behind skipping things like filler and such. LRLL is FIFTEEN episodes. For many anime, that's an entire season and then some. That's more than the entire run time of some really exceptional anime still out there for W&S to watch. You don't need an entire arc of padding between major plot events. A couple episodes is enough, and we already had that on the transition from Skypeia to LRLL. Plus, unedited LRLL is just bad. Personally, I would never ask W&S to skip it, but I also wouldn't have shed any tears if they had.

Renden

It seems like to the author, no matter the opponent, there always has to be stakes. It both is and isn't nerve-wracking at the same time. Obviously Luffy doesn't lose to some goofball like this, but I guess there wouldn't be a show if he didn't make it close for no reason. Also, apparently this arc was originally 15 episodes. Imagine sitting through all 15 with the original pacing 💀

Gelondil

The anime alters this arc from the original manga so badly, it's actually a travesty. Thankfully the One Pace team put in a lot of work undoing the awful changes, and the anime doesn't ever get this bad again: Luffy abandons Chopper in the original anime (temporarily, at least) You guys called the vibes right. In the original anime edit, Luffy chooses to steal Shelly (the horse) after winning round 2, leaving Chopper with Foxy's crew throughout the third round. That's why Chopper isn't seen sitting with the crew through the third round. This change is such a slap in the face, as it undermines Luffy's willingness to die to keep and protect his crew, one of his core defining traits. 😠 If this first change wasn't bad enough, after winning, Luffy agrees to a second Davy-Back Fight, and there are 3 rounds of anime-only contests, where Chopper is yet again stolen by Foxy. This is where the "pick your 500 crew" thing comes from. They upped the ante in the second set of trades. And then, on top of all that, there's another half dozen episodes of unrelated anime only filler at the end, including a random return of Foxy that nobody was asking for.

Gelondil

I just hope we aren't overhyping and setting too high of expectations! :D

yusuke

For the next batch of episodes, I recommend you react to the first five One Pace Water 7 episodes. If you only watch four, it'll ruin the climax that happens between episodes 4 and 5. Episode 5 is a perfect stopping point for the first part of Water 7.

Angel

the way i was scrolling and became so shook when i realized what eps you reacted to OMG

Zana

I am ready for the next arc

The Great Dan

Yeah, only extra thing I liked about that filler was Zoro "The path is gone!". And just that game, the rest were forgettable.

Camden

i love aokiji
