Luffy's quick turn around I think is a combination of Iceburg's words and Usopp getting beat up. Iceburg rightfully calls him out on being immature and not fit to be a captain since the caption should be the one to be level headed and make the best decisions for the crew. And then seeing Usopp get beat up makes Luffy realize he needs to be serious and he takes Iceburgs words to heart.

It is up to a captain to make the tough decisions… & though he obviously doesn’t want to lose the Merry, Luffy is doing what a leader needs to do at a crossroads like this. things are getting harder. Luffy almost died last arc. if the merry isn’t going to last, they need a new ship. think y’all did a great job breaking out where Ussopp’s head is at too - I get where he’s coming from, which makes the whole situation that much harder… this is truly one of the most heartbreaking moments in the series for me. When men’s wills collide & Ussopp leaves the crew. 😭

This is why I love Water 7. It sets up multiple problems (money stolen, Robin missing, intercrew tension) and furthers characterization and development for the cast in meaningful ways.

I love seeing Luffy grow as a captain when characters admonish him. Iceberg calling him out about avoiding the tough decisions and risking the safety of his crew reminded me of Vivi doing the same in Drum Island when she taught him to humble himself for the good of his crew. Good stuff.

One pace has been really great so far when it comes to the editing. But seriously what's going on with these subtitles? Unfiting slang use aside, half the time the phrasing and word choice is straight up bad. i dont get why they didn't use the old fansubs for this project, they were easily superior.

In the broadcast of One Piece these episodes were in the 230's, so at that point we had been travelling with 'Merry for 4-1/2 years.

The dish they were eating at the beginning, "paille" I discovered on this show. It is a very simple dish and very tasty, especially the texture; you peel and grate a potato as thinly as you can. Dry the potatoes well with paper towels, make sure they're not sticking together, and flash deep-fry them in very hot oil. Put all of them in at once, and make sure they don't turn brown. Eat it while it's hot; the result should look like frizzy blond hair, only appetizing

The Merry was also a gift from Kaya, who was the sick girl in the Mansion and Ussop's friend from his hometown so that might also be a factor aswell.

That's what I think of - my father would make hashbrowns 3 meals a day if you let him, and he grates them fine and cooks them crispy so it's almost like paille around the edges.

It was that you made a list that strongly implied a connection between the things on the list, a connection W&S wouldn't know yet. Once we're done with Enies Lobby, I think you should totally share that list again.
