LETS GOOOOOOO

eXxCeZz

Honestly I always felt like this is the best episode of the series

Zaaa

If I remember correctly, I think they mentioned hawks before. During the work study selection, I think aizawa told tokoyami that he would be interning under hawks or something like that. It was just a brief mention tho.

Charcul

He is also briefly mentioned at the start of this episode (episode 24)

C

One of the best episodes of the show

Kindyh Bordat

Going from Jojo to MHA feels really weird XD.

Rai

The Todoroki family is one of best writing in MHA!

Tony

THE WAIFU HAS APPEARED!!!!!!! MIRKO!!!!!

mimiyowa

9:15 "Ghislaine from E̶p̶s̶t̶e̶i̶n̶? Oh, Mushoku Tensei" has got to be the funniest clip.. That was really good, it made me spit my tea out bahaha

Nigos The Titan

I have so much to say about Wes mistaking Steph talking about Mushoku Tensei Ghislaine for Epstein Ghislaine. But I will refrain 😭😭😭

Adams

Endeavor is prbbly one of the most interesting charachter in MHA, i actually started liking him after this episode

Kindyh Bordat

OMG, There is a REALLY big spoiler at the end of the ending, well it's not really a spoiler since you can already pièce things together but it's pretty big. It's the burned picture under Endeavor.

Mateo Egey

Possibly my favorite fight of all of My Hero. The animation and the emotion are so amazing.

Mateo Egey

Can you not spell out characterization from later arcs? Delete the comment please

RCG

That's foreshadowing, not a spoiler.

Nody

my favorite character is Endeavor, so I have been waiting for this moment

Pupbeat

I AM SO HAPPY YOU NOTICED LEMILLION WITHOUT THE HAPPY FRONT ON IN THE ED most reactors dont notice. u r my fav bnha reactors i think

RCG

What Mateo said. That's a spoiler.

RCG

Hawks and Mirko are the newest members of the GOAT Club.

Pupbeat

also dont forget to watch the intro of this season, its pretty fun and matches the vibe well imo

RCG

She's such a cool character.

Roy Mathew

I haven't seen the series past this point so I'm excited to experience it with you all! I remember I was super impressed with season 4 but when season 5 came out I was starting my first post-college job and the series fell off for me then.

Ale

Well the first part of the season is kinda slow, but after that it's just peak after peak!!

The Anime Dude

I love the writing decision to have him fight a biologically engineered Nomu that was created from multiple quirks with the pure intent to get stronger as he continues to face his past… and how he sees the own actions that he’s done in that. I don’t think he seeks forgiveness... he knows he can’t fix what he’s broken, but if nothing else he is trying to face forward and do better, and he’s trying to show that change through actions rather than talk. He even had the humility to ask All Might what the Symbol of Peace is… to put his pride aside & try to search for what makes them so different, cuz that’s what’s needed. There’s something inherently admirable about that. He’s a very flawed man, but one of my favorite characters right behind BakuGOAT. P.S. whether Deku vs Muscular, Deku vs Todoroki, All Might Vs All for One, Lemillion vs Overhaul, or even this fight here… I feel like Horikoshi (author) is very good at putting the weight of importance on the emotions behind the fight rather than getting overly technical & over complicated with the fighting itself. I’ve seen him criticized for it, but while it’s different… I think that overall simplicity & emotional prioritization is a strength of the MHA fights that makes them stand out in their own way.

Shiggy

Episode 1 of season 5 is a filler/recap episode, so if you guys want you can just hop into ep 2.

Sa_ji

By the way Hawks VA is the same as Gojo Satoro

RCG

Season 5 is definitely the weakest but everything afterward is actually pretty good.

Sa_ji

well, we just know one extreme perspective of Endevour from Shoto. so keep watching and you will know more. Not saying he is a good guy.

RCG

I wouldn’t skip it. It’s a mixed filler/canon episode and it even has an after-credit scene.

starrk

MHA is so good that even if season 5 is the "weakest" it's still pretty good for me. Agree that season 6 onwards is so good, it has some of the best moments in anime. Peak after peak after peak! Given that seasons 1-4 already gave so many amazing and emotional moments.

Gopal

Yeah it's crazy how many mixed emotions Endeavor has made me feel, both good and sad. His storyline is definitely my favorite thing out of all of MHA. He's tied for my favorite character alongside Bakugo. Yes, it does seem I have a type. Tho I love them for completely different reasons.

starrk

"They do villain fights like none other.. they emotionally just destroy you" this is so on point from Steph. And its part of why i love MHA. We got so much emotional fights/moments throughout seasons 1-4. Expect more in future seasons! More peak episodes incoming :D Also i think you missed it or forgot, it was mentioned before that Tokoyami does his work study under Hawks agency. Fun fact, Hawks voice actor is the same as Gojo's from JJK! And Dabi's voice actor is the same as Zenitsu's from demon slayer.

starrk

I love this comment.. my favorite characters are also Bakugo and Endeavor. I think you nailed it with the way MHA handles it's big fights.

Michael Johnson

I think there is also something interesting to be said how Endeavor still tried to improve while All Might was active. Like other heroes didn't try to improve themselves because, why would they? All Might is there

Brnden

I think it's pretty cool what the show was able to do with endeavor in such a short time

Arvrxx

Movie Next Week!

Ura Meshi

Peak symbolism of Endeavor burning up his previous self as the Nomu (wanting to be the strongest) and being reborn with the phoenix wings. Also 49:54 the child saved his parents from the dangerously high emotional momentum building up 😂

Doge Master

Lmao ghislaine Maxwell what a call out, hopes she rots in prison, so funny 🤣

Doge Master

Also yeah I have my issues with the authors writing, but I will say, when it comes to real human emotions he usually does not miss, maybe a bit with romance but when it comes to the serious stuff he's really good

Alvaro Vesga

Seeing this, I can bet one of My legs that You Will Bawl your eyes out when You get to know more about the Todoroki family story 🤣 but seriously I also think their family is the most interesting sub-plot from the whole show, to the point where Endeavour bacame My favorite character. In real life, a person that did what he did would be really dificult to forgive, but in the show, since we get to know his internal monologue and all the things he goes through I think his redeemption is splendid, cannot wait for You to see how he progresses. This is top 5 My hero academia episodes 🙌🏼

Alvaro Vesga

Love your comment, you nailed it

Billbob

Huh, Eri reverting Ragdoll is an interesting question, wonder if it ever got brought up in any q&a stuff or anything. If it did result in her getting her quirk back and AFO keeping a copy of the quirk then its a good thing AFO never got the chance to take Eri's quirk to use it. He'd be able to just create infinite copies of the same quirk by stealing, rewinding, stealing and so on. Power stacking quirks would make him more OP but he could also give every nomu an extreme power set..

Yash Binu

There's a board game called othello in case y'all were wondering

Jack Witt

FYI, The One For All's aren't in proper order in that last scene. If they were, All Might would be between Nana and Deku.

jasmine

Correct me if i'm wrong because I could definitely be wrong, but i've always thought of it as Eri having the potential to get Mirio his quirk back because his quirk factor was damaged and destroyed by the chemical compound in the bullet, so she could realistically rewind the damage and restore his quirk. When All For One steals quirks, i'm pretty sure it's like he's ripping the quirk factor out of their DNA, removing it entirely and rendering it impossible for Eri to bring it back as it no longer exists in them in any form. It's definitely a super interesting question and I'd love to know if Horikoshi has ever explained it in depth. I adore world-building and would give anything for more details (I haven't watched the later seasons yet so I don't know if we get more on the topic. We probably do.)

jason thomas

eri can only use her abilities on organic living stuff not sure Nomis count.. I have never seen a complex character like Endeavour and his family dynamics in a battle shonen. It's so well written.

vivaan

just type his name normally lmao

mimiyowa

I can type his name normally, Rudeus Epstein Greyrat. the strikethrough is for comedic effect

Ramms

Positive Correlation with Epstien and Mushoku Tensei LMAO😭😭😭

Solar Wind

The one in the ending with Gentle isn't Hawks haha. It's Gentle's childhood friend that pretended not to remember who he is when they met, in Gentle's flashback. So this just makes that moment even more hurtful

Temojikato

Othello/Reversi is a board game :)

Temojikato

Steph is so right, Endeavor is one of the most interesting characters in the show

Envyy

The blonde guy in that picture at the end with Gentle wasn’t Hawks, it was Takeshita, the bamboo-themed hero from Gentle’s backstory. If you remember, he was Gentle’s classmate who went on to become a successful hero. Later, he’d completely forgotten who Gentle was, which reinforced Gentle’s feelings of failure and contributed to his descent into becoming a villain

Wurzeldieb

Surprised that you almost were sure that he dies here. Yes the family stuff was a big flag, but it wouldn't make much sense for the story. They already are in despair becasue of All Might losing his power. So Endeavors death wouldn't change much, also would be lame to lose against a random monster like that.

Shay

Nomus are literally just modified people, they're living people, they absolutely would still count (but that would never work anyway because plot needs to happen)

jason thomas

I can give a more detailed response but that would be a spoiler but no her ability cannot directly affect a Nomu.

Mia

i can't believe mha managed to make me cry for an abusive dad, i am now open to his redemption since the episode deems this as the start of his arc. This episode was truly one of a kind, definitely the best so far

Aiyuu

In all fairness, the lives of Endeavor’s other kids are not ruined. They were neglected but they still live in a privileged environment. Sure their family situation isn’t ideal and not something they can be proud of, but their living conditions are better than most. Most of the real life kids growing up in an abusive family wouldn’t even get to have normal living standards like they do. Well at least that’s how it is in the environment I live in anyway.

D B

I do want to point out Rei (Todoroki's mom/Endeavor's wife) was not forgiving Endeavor or brushing away his actions in that scene. Natsu was saying he felt like Endeavor was trying to pretend his past never happened, but she was pointing out she doesn't believe that's true as he comes to visit her often, and leaves a gift that references the past. It's a set up for the end of the episode where Endeavor sees his past self in the Nomu, and it shows us he hasn't forgotten his past, nor is he trying to pretend it didn't happen. Now as for what that means or how to feel about it, that's all up to you guys!

Gichii

is the film next ?

Godspeedhero

Personally, I really like Endeavor. A lot of younger MHA fans love Bakugo and hate Endeavor which, to me, just reeks of a lack of life experience, but that's simply my personal opinion.

M. Alexander duenas

This is probably my second favorite season of my hero I think there are other season that have better moments, but as a hall season this is one of my favorites

Storm

10:40 Aizawa mentions him when he was talking to the students about Work studies, because Hawks asked specifically for Tokoyami (Dark Shdaow)

Storm

An important thing to keep in mind about Endeavor that i recently noticed is that: Endeavor wasnt cruel just to be cruel, he was just willing to sacrifice everything to reach the Nr.1 spot or to surpass All Might. And once All Might retired, and he reached the Nr.1 spot he could look back on everything he sacrificed and realized he was alone and every mistake he had made, and is now trying to make up for it in every way he can, no matter how slow or short steps it takes to reach it as he is fully acknowledging his faults that he is trying to repair what he can even though it might be a lost cause

TastedPurple

out of 68 comments, only one guy mentioned what they've missed Nomu is symbolically past Endeavor himself, who was obsessed with power not only that, he acknowledges it, and confronts it like he is facing past self it is so important cuz that's the beginning of his redemption how else are we, as viewers, gonna see that he's changing? it's very well done like we wouldn't know from his words alone how sincere he is, but this is shown through combat which is his language lots of reactors miss it, cuz the dialogs are apart, and peak animation going on in between it's unfortunate, considering how significant it is
