Letsss goooooo

mogeki

I yelled out loud when I saw the notification for this, holy moly.

Renden

Oh boy, it's time. Heads up, the sound effects in this show can be REALLY loud, and that is a running theme throughout pretty much the entire duration of the show. Please be careful when turning up the volume. Also, the show is, as the name suggests, very bizarre. Just a heads up 😅

yahdier

This will definetly be a long and bizarre adventure

Kudu_22

My absolute favourite! Great to see you reacting to this

Alvaro Vesga

I cannot wait for them to see why this show is called JoJo's BIZARRE adventures lmao BTW since You love Kaguya, I need to remind You that Dio's voice actor is the same as President Miyuki's Dad 😂

Billbob

Nice, it was bound to happen eventually. Just a forewarning, jojos can be a bit more on the gratuitous side of showing violence and for some reason Araki likes to it obvious that someone is a bad guy by making them do unnecessarily evil things sometimes. But other than that, the power system gets crazy unique by s3+ and the show is a usually fun romp of absurdity Cant wait for work to be done to watch it

Zectorman

SONO CHINO SADAME!!!! JO JOOOOOOOOOO!

A.G

Let's go, peak is here

Marko Genter

Probably should warn you guys that this show is gonna be stressful as hell for you guys lol, like remember when Luffy was stuck in water in arlong park for whole episodes and you guys were stressed out, yeah imagine that but every fight lmao.

RCG

You’re in for a wild ride. JoJo’s is a very unconventional and unique show. It's probably one of the most memed and referenced anime in existence. If you already thought DanDaDan was crazy, you haven’t met JoJo’s yet. Some parts definitely feel a bit too long but as a whole, it’s a great show. Also, I don’t know where exactly you watched Fate/Zero but afaik, JoJo’s is also censored on most (all?) streaming sites, so you might want to watch it somewhere else.

NaviLuna

I'm so ready! Also, if in any future episodes the "to be continued" doesn't appear at the end, there will be an end credit scene

Ricchan

Damn, it's that time now huh.

AL

SAMEEE I VOTED FOR IT BUT NEVER KNEW WHO WON LMAOOOO THIS IS GONNA BE AMAZING

Camden

Fun fact, Dio has the same voice actor as Aokiji, who you guys just met in One Piece.

Derpin

Now you guys will understand Jojo references.

Omer Durrani

ALRIGHT first time watching Jojo's with ya'll, looking forward everyone hyping it

Camden

He also voices Zeke from Attack on Titan and Toji from Jujutsu Kaisen

Kindyh Bordat

I love Jojo... but it's going to be really long, and bizarre. Maybe another double episode show ? (180ish episodes) 🧐

Hængeklumpen

based, i never finished jojo. part 5 allways makes me sleepy. not sure why. imma try finnishing it with Y. buttt i doubt it

A.G

Jojos was created in the 80s, so it starts pretty basic but it gets more bizarre the more you watch, and it has a lot of musical references throughout the series, you might recognize some

Goldie Wilson

ME TOO! God I'm so hyped for them to witness this bizarre adventure :D

HopelesslyImmersed

I feel so bad for Dio. He is legitimately so smart, introspective, and cunning. Sadly he was raised with horrible ethics and morals. He truly believes that his only way to succeed with comfort is to take everything Jojo loves for himself and leave him as a husk, as he felt growing up. When Jojo beat him up his inner child came out, probably trauma from beatings from his pathetic drunk father.

Infinite Winds

Strap in first time watchers, it took me dropping it 2-3 times before I got through the rather short first part of the series, a feat many have perpetually failed, including some of my friends who I could never convince to continue Does it get better after part 1 you might ask. Maybe. That's subjective isn't it. But objectively speaking, it does get different

JohnnyBSMK

Fun fact, this series originally premiered in Weekly Shonen Jump (the same magazine that will later publish Hunter x Hunter, One Piece, Death Note, MHA, along with others) all the way back in 1987, which I believe makes it the oldest anime you guys have watched so far, in terms of its original publication as a manga. It is still currently ongoing and is longer in total page count than One Piece. You guys tend to not watch the openings or endings of shows much to avoid spoilers, and Jojo's first opening in particular is a really egregious example of that, future openings are much more vague on the plot and only spoil character designs but that's it, but the first opening says too much. That being said, people will really want you guys to react to the openings and endings because Jojo's openings and endings are probably bar none the best in terms of visuals and music in all of anime. For this first opening and ending Episode 7 is the best episode to watch it because by then it won't spoil anything. For the openings and endings after that I would say five episodes in that section of the story would be the best. Of course it is up to you two on how you want to approach it, but yeah just be warned about the first opening.

Runhua Tang

The word "pluck" already being mentioned by Wes is kinda crazy.

Ethereal

0:55 seems pretty uncensored, so I think they're fine.

Ethereal

Since Jojo is a long show I'd recommend to do a double-episode, or you can expand the slot later once My Hero Academia ends. It's not as urgent now, but the double-episode format will fit quite nicely later in the series.

Zio

I think you guys can watch the ending

RCG

Maybe it depends on the season. I'm pretty sure Season 3 has censoring, if I remember correctly, so I just assumed the whole show was like that. I guess we'll see later on if there's any censoring.

NECOdes

This will be wild... and long! Hoping for double episodes. Can't wait to see them get to the parts i liked the most.

Ricchan

I love your reaction to this episode and Dio. For sure, you'll enjoy Monster a lot so I'm hoping you can pick it up yourself as it's never gonna win the polls lol.

Ricchan

Yeah, Dio could have achieved so much more in life if he was taught empathy. But his mentality has been fully convinced that he needs to be the best in order to not get trampled again. Whatever he becomes, this part of him is always rooted in Dario raising him.

Tim Tim

Say that again..

humblebees

I feel like it's worth mentioning that JoJo's is pretty unlike popular modern anime in that it's very cartoonish and dramatic. Dio is a bad guy basically just cause he's the bad guy. Yes they give him a bit of a back story but it's more or less just a show that sets up fun drama and crazy moments. It took me a bit to sort of just relax into the pace of the show and I've watched all of it now and honestly, can't tell if it's good or not but it's fun crazy weird ride for sure. EDIT: Also yes lmao JoJo's dad is so stupid. It adds to the insane silly drama of it all.

Tim Tim

16:16. Dio DOES have same voice actor as Roswaal, and Shiroganes (presidents) father from Kaguya. It's easy to recognise it ahah And yes, Dio from spanish is god, and it's just a small and interesting detail in this series. It doesn't mean much so don't think about it

David Stern

Also roswaal like Steph said and shirogane’s dad

Westerschwelle

Oh man, here we go! Regarding DIO's name: It's a reference to Ronnie James Dio, a heavy metal icon. In the JoJo's Franchise a lot of characters or abilities are named after rock bands, songs or musicians. In the english translation they usually change the name somewhat in order to evade legal issues. I am not gonna give examples in order not to spoil but I think you might catch a few of these references :)

Fabien

You can watch the ending, pretty chill no spoil either. This show is so weird (in a good way), I was already laughing my ass off in scenes that are supposed to be sad lol. The way things are presented is so unique, I feel like Jojo's Bizarre adventures isn't to be taken too seriously most of the time. Also, keep in mind that manga started in the late 80s (it's still going afaik lol). The anime is more recent (started in the late 2000s), but it's a very long manga and probably the oldest story you've reacted to.

Infierno23

Correct me if i'm wrong but the openings and endings of jojos is fine to watch for the most part

Temojikato

Omg you actually did it. JoJo. I'm SO curious what y'all make of this. I LOVE this show, but it is extremely... unique. Enjoy! One tip: This isn't Fate, or AoT or Death note... don't think too hard ;) everything is exaggerated - Wesley trying to find the "lesson" is funny af tho :p But to take it seriously a bit; You're not giving Dio enough credit. Dad never sees the side we see. Also the metal doors on those chimneys/ovens get way too hot to open as a man in 1868 I'd imagine LOL

Kronosok

It’s not that the dad is dumb, he’s just very noble and gentlemanly, so I guess he can’t comprehend malice

NoSoupRice

I shall correct you, it's notoriously filled with spoilers 🥲 especially the first one. SONO CHI NO SADAMEEE!!!

Infierno23

Spoilers for first timers or people who know the story? Thats kinda what i mean, we get all the hints, but would they. This area of the show is my blind spot but later on they are pretty good for the openings?

Camden

the name censoring also gets bad in part 3 and 4

NoSoupRice

!SPOILERS! - 1st part OPs is mostly a montage of events that happen in the first half of the season (also it shows all the jojos up till jolyne) - 2nd part be fine if they dont read into it too much, but it still shows hints and characters not yet introduced - 3rd shows the whole cast, many of which start off as antagonists, and also reveals dio early - 4th also shows a lot of unintroduced characters - 5th is probably the most fine (the second op might be spoilery though) - 6th also shows a montage of events that happen in the season - haven't seen 7th yet

Infierno23

The mention of those? I guess it could be, i'll edit it, question still stands, i feel at least the endings are good. Would suck to lose the transition from the episode into ending of the beginning

Courage

No way Wes and Steph are watching peak finally. Hopefully they switch to double episode drops later cause it'll take them like 4 years otherwise 😭🙏

NoSoupRice

he sure comprehends a lot of things when it's jonathan doing something wrong though

Zachary Fewins

I feel like it gets much less cartoonishly dramatic as it goes. I feel like it really hits its stride in part 5. I love the grittiness of part 5.

A.G

1st opening is fine after episode 5. 2nd opening is fine by episode 21

Eureka

yes!

Armando Rojas Ruiz

Ever since I started watching your reactions on YouTube, I've been waiting for you guys to watch my favorite anime. I'm really excited to experience it with you and share some of the interesting details I know. XD I'd recommend watching two episodes per session since it's a pretty long series.

Ramms

You guessed it right it is the same VA as Roswaal from Re Zero, also Part 1: Phantom Blood (Episodes 1–9) was written back in 1987 and was Araki's first few works so the story writing can feel a little old with the obvious good and bad guy but it gets better as the Parts progress

Meia-noite

Oh, I was reading Count of Monte Cristo like, right before watching this video, thats funny. Great book so far!

Mohamed Musa

I don't think that's subjective at all, bc part 1 is not that that good compared to part1, part2, part3 which is the best jojo in my opinion

levovit

"Jojo has more pluck". Lmao. Never heard anyone uses that word ever

Kai

There goes the first meme, KONO DIO DA!

Renden

I'm gonna be so real I didn't even know there WAS an uncensored version. I've only ever seen it censored.

Exit

I’m so happy Steph recognise that Dio sounds line Roswal from Re:Zero because HE IS!! They share the same VA

Runhua Tang

They are already doing a lot of double-episodes at the mean time, so I don't think they will do double Jojo anytime soon. Not before one of the other shows are finished.

ZhangShuYi

LETS GO! I am so hyped. This show is so weird and so awesome. However bizarre you think it’s going to be it will be MORE

Lood

Keep an eye out for the "to be continued", the episode isn't over until it shows up. So if the ending shows up first, you have a post-credit scene.

Mike Q

No way Wes and Steph have started this!! This is going to be a BIZARRE ADVENTURE. The most meme-worthy, dramatic, and highly stylish show! I am so intrigued by how the most analytical reactors I know will react to this whirlwind of a story, although Wes and Steph will probably go into deep dives on the psychological and philosophical aspects of the show. And yes Dio's VA is Roswaal from Re:Zero, Beast Titan from AoT, Shirogane's dad in Kaguya: Love is War, and many other great roles, but this is probably his most famous.

CD Elio

I haven't seen Jojo looks like since Wes and Steph started this might as well gonna watch it simultaneously with them.

nik

Hey Wes and Steph! I loved the reaction! This took me about 2 days to complete but.... I have finished gathering the best release of fan subs for JoJo's Bizarre Adventures for you two! The fan subs are really important, because once you reach Part 3+, it will have censored subtitles since many things have names that reference old Band names, and they're usually censored with something else, instead of the actual Band name. These fan subs have it fixed, so there's no problem there! All uncensored! Also, Part 7 isn't included because Part 7 only has one episode, and you'll have a LONG time before you reach Part 7, so I'm hoping by the time you get there, Part 7 will be fully released, with proper fan subs, and I can send it to you then as well! This took me two days to convert from MKV files to MP4 and then upload it on G-Drive lmao. Keep up the reactions! I love them! And I hope you use this! I really hope you see this comment before your next reaction, so you can start using the best subtitles immediately! Note: There's a folder called "Thus Spoke Kishibe Rohan" which is a 4-episode optional OVA that is for a side character, and it takes place AFTER Part 4. Canon, but optional since its not in the main story since it's a side story, and I personally haven't watched it (lol). Oh yeah! At 21:51, this is a very iconic JoJo meme/line! These subtitles don't translate it correctly, but it says, "Your first kiss wasn't with JoJo... It was with me, Dio!" Last thing, if you have a discord server or somewhere you can have DMs open, that'd be great! I'd love to talk to you personally! Here's the link to JoJo's! https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1D7kE-m4B4I3KA_tjKPdnU58nzVD9U4Ok?usp=sharing

D B

I find part 1 quite enjoyable myself. It's a very focused story, with a linear progression and characters that matter. Every moment has important consequences.

keanthebean

It’s simple, they can just do double episodes when there’s a 2 parter/3 parters

Joshua Moore

This story was written like 40 years ago btw

Joshua Moore

I’m probably wrong I think it’s 1980s

Heather

i did not know thta. Longer than one peice is crazy, but honestly with the weordness of the world im not suprised

Heather

lol no, he would be still be like that, people have gone through worse and not even done half of the stuff gio did. Its who he is and it was nurtured

Bocchi in Shadow

I lowkey want them to blast past P1. After that, growing peak

D. L. Pulver

Odd show! The violence, etc. seems to indicate an adult show, but the over-dramatic writing and plotting has the feel of a kid's show. Was it influenced by Fist of the North Star? It has the same sort of feel to that.
