So Riders field was a very powerful barrier that a modern mage had not hope of destroying (since Rider is unnamed I can't say the name of it). Under regular circumstances it would have drained the students inside the school and them melted them for extra mana. In normal humans the heart and blood give the most mana to servants and vampires. Rin and Shirou weaken the field enough that no one inside instantly got killed and disolved. Rin and Shirou would have eventually died after they ran out mana too.

15:15 The first time you see Gilgamesh is in the fate route, not in UBW. You're introduced to him in the middle of the route as you fight another servant that he kills effortlessly. Saber then says something like "Archer ? what are you doing here ?" which makes the reader confused since Archer is the other guy, not this blonde guy. His identity is revealed shortly after, directly as a servant from the previous war and as the oldest hero. Thus don't expect a big reveal in UBW, you're supposed to know who he is.

On the point of FSN being less dark than Zero a part of it has to do with the writers. The person that wrote Zero was kinda infamous at the time for writing gore erotica games (yes the og Fate was an ero game, but not the level of Song of Saya). The other is part is that the darkest more hopeless part of Fate are in the game's bad ends, the game overs caused by bad decisions. Think of Re Zero levels of gore and surprise deaths.

I like the juxtaposition of how in Fate Zero, really the only younger character was Waver and the rest of the cast were adults. In UBW, the inverse has been true in that the cast so far have been teenagers and then there's the teacher lol.

It's not that Shirou doesn't have any magic circuits, it's moreso Kiritsugu teaching him magic in the wrong way (makes it hurt) to discourage him from it.

Shirou was taught incorrectly by kiritsugu how to perform magecraft, he basically taught him that he needs to use one of his nerves to create a single magic circuit every single time he casts anything, leading to shirou neglecting his circuits over the years. Kiri taught him wrong to discourage him from using magic, cuz he wanted Shirou to live normally. Surprisingly, Shirou actually has an above average amount of circuits for a mage, but due to the years of neglect his are lower quality right now, idk if they get better over time though, I haven't finished the VN yet.

Yeah you got Shirou right. Everything he does is in service for others so it's difficult to say he actually enjoys doing it. He's a really good cook and does seem to like cooking but its because he's feeding other people. I also think he doesn't believe he deserves to enjoy things because of his survivors guilt.

I found an important detail in Tohsaka and Shirou's conversation that you seem to have missed. When Tohsaka asked Shirou about adoptive family, she was asking about herself and Sakura, but to Shirou, it sounded like she was asking about him — that's why he was offended by the question (I'm not sure "offended" is the right word).

When I was a kid, I played a Robin Hood game. Back in those days, monitors had huge backs. The main character Robin Hood wore green clothes and a hat, and during combat, you controlled the character by drawing lines... So I think Robin Hood's color scheme should be green, not a red coat :)

Regarding Archer's identity, the og game throws some "clues" or points of interest at the player to keep them guesing. You see a lot of his weapons actually have names that you can check along their canon history, the swords are named Kanshou and Bakuya and come from Chinese mythology; while the sword arrow is called Caladbog which belonged to an Irish hero named Fergus mac Róich. These information is meant for you to question how exactly does Archer have this weapons and what does it mean for his identity.

That is not something I thought about. Even with all dark stuff FSN anime shows only the best outcome. Would be interesting to get short ova's for bad ends especially one fanfavourite that shouldn't be mentioned now something something sparks flying high)
