I just love how much Mai and Sakuta love each other. They never feel threatened by other people. The only person Mai felt even a bit threatened by is Sakuta's wife/fiance from another timeline (Shoko)

Im gonna be honest. This series really means a lot to me and rewatching it again with you guys just makes me sader and sader that the series will fully end in less than a month with the last movie. Even though I read the novels and know the ending at least I could tell myseld that the anime is still airing but now.....😭😭

This is still my favorite episode of the season purely because of Mai and her presence in the whole episode and how she basically showed Sara who's the boss. This whole season definetly lacked some more Mai and thats why I would really hope they adapt in the future some side stories from the series that doesnt deal with only Puberty syndrome and such since they have a lot of cute Sakuta and Mai moments but other characters as well. But thats just wishfull thinking on my part. It probably wont happen

you might know this alr but an extra (i think non-canan) light novel volume got released in english in early august called Rascal does not dream of a Beach Queen +. It is kind of a collection of short stories that kamoshida wrote that were prolly just too short to be full fledged volumes. I havent finished reading it yet but im pretty sure the beach queen short story is supposed to be set between nodoka's arc and the first kaede arc. Consider picking up a copy if you want more Mai but like i said ive barely started it so idk if shes in it any more than the second season.

Originally I was kinda stumped on the resolution of this arc too but I think i boiled it down to the point that Sara didn't really know what love was and kinda just thought of it as being like a trophy to show off, due to her previously close relationship to Kasai. Thats kinda why she wanted to get sakuta to fall for her because she could show off that she made a guy in a relationship with a literal celebrity fall for her. But through the process of trying to manipulate him by reading his mind she actually fell in love with sakuta because of his selfless personality. With that and her talk with Mai she sort of realized that love shouldn't be a selfish thing but a selfless one where both parties try their best to bring the other happiness. So I believe that her puberty syndrome was kinda caused by her selfishness and once she realized that she was all wrong about love it kind of sent the puberty syndrome off.

Yeah I have read it already😆 I wouldnt say they are non cannon. Maybe the first one but the other two I wouldnt say. Especially the second one which takes place during the Christmas date after after the first movies ending which we never got to see. If you want to there are also some audio stories that are on Youtoube that are also very nice. Thank you for telling me tho

Ah Mai and Sakuta the lovely couple they are. Onto the last arc of this season and after that the final movie which ends the series Rascal does not dream. Sidenote: I'm starting to think that they would love Holo and Lawrence from Spice and Wolf (one of the best light novels of all time both acclaimed by light novel readers and non-light novel readers which is insane since one of its main genres is romance), also it is coming back for Season 2 next year.

Yeah, after all, I still love Himeji, my princess!😩 (hime means princess) But I agree, it didn't feel resolved. Like, she was clearly hurting because of her puberty syndrome, she didn't fake a cry, that's extremely hard to do. She genuinely felt bad, but only when she was found out... Or maybe only now because her puberty syndrome disappeared? It seems it disappeared when she rejected Mai's proposal to understand love. And it seems she did get her puberty syndrome because she was hurting because she didn't understand love... So, in a way, it was resolved, just not in the way she wanted it to. But I guess the puberty syndrome is usually something you want, but in a way that makes you realize you don't actually want this. Or rather, like a tangible example of what you want really means. It's just in Himeji's case, she was put in a situation where she still wanted to keep her puberty syndrome, but the specific person she was dealing with made her choose between two things she didn't want. To learn about why Mai and Sakuta were so close, which would cement what she already knew, she couldn't make Sakuta love her when he and Mai were so close, but refusing that knowledge would be the same as saying, "I don't want to know what love is anymore." In other words, "I don't need puberty syndrome."? That's how I see it, but I might be missing something.

You're talking about the remake right? I remember there was 2 seasons of og anime back in 09.

Those 2 seasons (24 episodes in total) just cover volume 1,2,3, 5 and a little bit of a short story from volume 7 skipping volume 4. Meanwhile the remake is adapting the whole novel starting from volume 1-4 (season 1) next year season 2 with volume 5 onwards
