A clarification, Satella attacked again and before because Rui knew about Return by Death. Another thing, despite being sealed Satella will always appear wherever she knows Subaru is, even with the seal intact. The is a third thing, but I am not sure if the anime has mentioned like the Novel just outright stated.

This show lost me a while back, but its still something I will skim through to see whats up. When Steph got mad at the bird it did encapsulate why I got bored of the show as a regular watch, it wastes the viewers time. I should clarify that I'm not saying this to hate on the show, my own favourite anime is Bleach which was a lot worse in this regard. I'm sure that whenever re:zero is complete these complaints will become irrelevant.

Small little clarification, Regulus did have the Greed factor, but every person actually develops different authorities from the greed factor, just like with the sloth factor (Invisible Providence/Unseen Hands). If i remember right it is based on compatibility with the factor and the owner of the factor's personality. Regulus was a bit of a jackass, while Subaru is the best, so Regulus would never be able to do what Subaru does with the Greed factor, and vice-versa.

Miniscule spoilers (mentioned in side stories and not the anime) The things that may seem small or a waste of time can still be relevant and that's what makes Re:Zero so fascinating, that scene with the bird may have seemed like nothing on the outside but we know that Pandora aka the Witch of Vanity aka the big bad uses the birds as "spies" for her and that she can see through them. This gives us the context that she's been spying on our party and now knows of the events that occured in the tower and can act accordingly to it in whatever fashion that may be.

Love how you interact with our comments! Really makes us feel seen. This is for me the best season/volume of Re Zero it’s perfect. Little explanation. Satella pulled up cuz Rui is in the real world, everytime she popped up is cuz of that (the loops where she came is Rui was piggybacking off Subaru (without memories) and actively in the world. The reason is simply cuz she knows RBD and nobody can (as it’s been established by the show) God i can’t wait for next season. Really hope you look at more IF Routes in the meantime!

Thats entirely fair. I feel a little guilty for feeling like this about the show, considering how awful some old shows are for poor pacing and filler. On a positive note I think it reflects how much higher the standard for anime has become.

I hope you someday will go through all seasons before in your free time. IMO ReZero truly shines when you start revisiting previous events and see how much foreshadowing is done and little hints are being thrown every step of the way. Every rewatch(or rereading) gives new amazing perspectives and appreciation for the series Once again thank you for your reactions, it is always a pleasure to rewatch it with you! Now we wait for the return of Maomao and Cyberpunk

The main issue with this (very good) season was really the lack of explanation. And here toward the end I'm even more confused because there's also the things we're not actually supposed to understand (yet) that are mixed in. So I was there wondering "is it something we're not supposed to understand or is it skipped/unexplained content for the anime version ?" There are so many questions, especially with that cliffhanger at the end. I guess I'll just watch or read something about the skipped content this season.

Why is she letting Roswall alone then ? He knows right ? Satella only came once in the second season (in the real world, there was also that time along with the other witches but assume it wasn't for the same reason). After that, nothing else happened. Anyway, she sure is powerful and everywhere for someone that is supposed to be sealed. What monster would the unsealed version be.

Final thoughts: I think Flugel was known as the wise sage because he has a 100% winrate in every fight and knows everything because he also ofc had RBD. This arc where we had basically 2 Natsuki Subaru's was a prelude to Subaru and Flugel methinks

Well time to start rewatching from season 1 again! Also, I don't know if there's a place for recommendations, but if you want another show that goes crazy with the lore and trying to puzzle out the secrets of the story like in Re:Zero, watch Lord of The Mysteries.

Roswaal doesn't know how it activates, he just knows that Subaru has some influence over events. It's theorized that Satella prevents him from telling people so that he doesn't get taken advantage of.

Yeah I totally agree with that. I was doing great this season all things considered but the final episode with the whole thing with Shaula, Volcanica, and that ending really confused me. If anyone finds a good video explaining that with out spoiling a lot of things please send me a link or the title.

imma try to explain some things as best as i can without spoiling anything and to the best of my knowledge so pls bare with me: 1. volcanicas knowledge of patrasche is, in the anime, exactly how it is in the novel. it wasn’t touched upon for half a decade until 2025 during arc 9 where something similar was mentioned in a single line but still didn’t give any answers. just know that patrasche isn’t 400 years old (ground dragons have a lifespan similar to humans) 2. emilia’s “absolute zero” is her final and absolute trump card; stated to be capable of ending nearly any real fight in one move. it was also stated that if emilia’s base magic is at lvl 1, absolute zero is at 10, if not 100. it freezes the environment and creates a vacuum, being able to freeze time itself within 3. the ones responsible for the 6 hands on the monolith are in one of the frames during the ending, referred to as the “hero party” from 400 years ago, but note shaula isn’t one of the hands on it 4. the author stated that shaula isn’t dead, but rather gone. the tiny scorpion has no consciousness nor does it have any memories and i believe in the novels meili stated its no longer shaula, but rather a tiny witchbeast now acting on pure instinct (which is why it’s drawn to meili and was on top of her head due to her divine protection) 5. it wasn’t in the anime, but subarus cor leonis (authority of greed) has 2 “gears”. the base of cor leonis allows him to have a complete 360 view of those he views as comrades and view him as one as well. gear 1 allows him to take on those comrades burdens; while gear 2 allows him to distribute that burden he is taking to WILLING allies. this means that when he distributed the burden to joseph the ground dragon, it was willing to bear that burden and help out subaru so that subaru can take on more of meilis 6. the author on twitter tdy stated that there IS a reason why emilia’s name was restored but not rem and julius, but did not say. he did however say that it’s not due to favoritism like many accuse him of😭 the most popular theory is that rye spit on her name when he spit out everything he devoured before dying to ram, or the theory that gluttony has a “digestion period” and that emilia’s name wasn’t fully digested so it was released when rye died. 7. satella most likely appeared due to rui making an appearance. however, there is no OFFICIAL stated reason as to why rui has a physical body and how(she appeared in the real world during szn 3 by using ryes body but rye is now dead) and has been a question ever since the ending of the arc and was left as a narrative mystery 8. volcanicas dragon breath is stated to be VERY versatile and can have extremely powerful purifying properties. when satellas shadows were rampaging, in the LN the narration was “The next moment, an awesome blue light slammed into the shadow consuming the world. The color of the world changed in an instant as the furious light devoured the darkness…” volcanica used his purifying dragon breath to repel the shadows from consuming the world and the sight was narrated as “it seemed as if the world itself was ending.” emilia noted that there was little destruction from the dragons breath at all and the surroundings seemed hardly touched 9. as to where rem and subaru ended up is a spoiler as it’s the setting of next arc 10. as to WHY the ended up there? that’s another narrative mystery unfortunately. the most popular theory is that satella tried teleporting subaru far away for his own safety, but volcanicas dragon breath directly interfered and resulted in them ending up in that grass field 11. the “heavy price” that rem had paid that ram was referring was the physical burden of ram borrowing rems horn. in last ep we seen that rems horn was bleeding. the true extent of this “heavy price” will be revealed next season tho 12. the answer to why rem woke up is also unfortunately a narrative mystery and there is no definitive answer. the most popular theory i believe is that due to them being struck by volcanicas purifying dragons breath, it had affected rem and reawakened her consciousness. she had woken up despite not having her name or memories back. 13. the mystery behind the doves was never revealed in the main story of rezero but was in a side story series years ago and hasn’t been mentioned once in either side stories or the main storyline since. it’ll probably (unfortunately) be revealed in a breaktime episode during season 5 as breaktime episodes are adapting side stories. also note that the owner of the bar in the desert town stated that the birds flying towards the tower only recently started appearing a lil over a year ago in the rezero world + if you rewatch certain scenes from rezero throughout the series, the birds are almost always present 👀

I saw many clarified the reason Satella appeared, but I want to clarify why Rui appeared in the spirit room (I'm not sure if it's real or it was my theory, but I think the spirit disappeared as Rui appeared, so Rui consumed him to get a physical body) It was nice to watch all of Re:Zero with you! Arc 7, the next arc is enormous, so no wonder they need some time to animate it, and it's PERSONALLY my favorite (controversial take because many people like this arc, arc 6). So I'll wait to watch it with you two!!

I completely agree with you! I've read the novell, and had to clarify stuff under almost every episode, there is just so much missed info, and some info are even put in Break time, for example we should've knew that Aldebaran is Isekaied since season 1, but it was skipped in the anime, yet they put it in Break time of season 3, insane.

Quick things, when subaru gets a power from a sin archbishop he gets a version that suits his personality, so no regulus cant do what subaru does , also patrasche was given his name by subaru, so the only possible theory to me is, flugel named his dragon patrasche too

Incompatible authorities have a more dramatic effect on the disposition of the user which is why Betelgeuse and Sirius seem particularly crazy, if the host is a more natural fit for the authority it seems to not mentally adle the user as much. Rui had return by death knowledge because she ate Subaru's memories, so when she returned to the physical plane, the taboo on RBD knowledge demanded her death. It explains a similar thing we saw when Subrau talked about RBD at the witch's tea party then Satella appeared afterwards. I believe the author said there's a scale of danger depending on who is told about it. The taboo seems to be independent of the seal but I haven't read the novel so that's just based on what i've seen. One thing that season has really taught me is everything matters in this show, and hardly anything is arbitrary, I think I know what the birds are but I don't think I'm supposed to, and I don't want to respoiler myself if I'm not, but I'm sure they matter.

So, I didn't get the scorpion girl joke, so I looked it up, and yeah, it fits Shaula. Apparently Scorpion girls have themes of witchcraft, sex, death, and regeneration. Magic? ✅ Wants to bang Subaru? ✅ Dies? ✅ Gets reborn? ✅
