Everbody talks about moments Araki forgot something he wrote, but most of them are nonsense from people who see plotholes where there aren’t any. Caesar Zeppeli is one of the only times Araki actually forgot. In the original printing of the manga, Zeppeli from part 1 says specifically that he has never had any descendants because of his dedication to the pursuit of the mask. Araki wrote Caesar into the story as his grandson and then apologized in the next issue for forgetting that line. The line has been changed in any official material to say that he left his family to pursue the mask.

Pillarman OST might be my favorite soundtrack in JoJo’s, the music just slaps. Such a vibe. Also, in regards to all the music references… the pillar men are named after bands. Santana was named after “Santana” Wamuu is “Wham!” Esidisi is “ACDC” Kars is named after “The Cars”

30:10 It didn't fall for 1 singular reason. Mass migration, inflation, Invasion from the East and North, civil war, ocational plague, and (after 180 AD) incompetent Emperors who were almost always either child puppets or war generals vying for power. I also dont think theres a singular point in time where u can say the decline started cuz theres so many options. It could be the rise of Sulla or Ceasar, or Marius's reforms, or the death of Marcus Aurelius or Caracallas reforms, or Constantines Edict of Milan, or Valens letting the Goths in, etc. Btw u guys should watch HBO Rome, its the precursor of Game of Thrones

It kills me everytime they mourn Mark and then proceed to strike the sickest duo pose I've ever seen.

Just realized how correct Ceasar was for calling Josesph a cheater lol.

Voice-acting trivia for the pillar men! Wamuu: Rider (Fate/Zero), Thorkell (Vinland), Dimple (Mob Psycho), Blackbeard (One Piece) Esidisi: Leorio (HxH), Hughes (FMA)

The Pillar Man Theme was also memed to death. I wouldn't be suprised if Wes has heard it on TikTok or somewhere.

When you really like history, the funnier question isn't why the Roman empire fell, but more like, when did it fell ? 476 is just a traditional date for the end of the western Roman empire. The people living inside it didn't see a difference before and after, as it was a very gradual process. But what about the eastern Roman empire, the one we call the "Byzantine empire" (a term created by historians, byzantines called themselves romans or greeks (as it was majority greek empire)). It continued until 1453. What about the Holy Roman Empire, which was abolished because of Napoleon in the 19th century lol. Ok, that one was roman in name only, but it lasted 1000 years. In a way, some other empires historically considered that they were the succcessors of the Roman empire, such as the Ottoman empire or even (very loosely) the Russian empire (Moscow was proclaimed the third Rome). Or maybe Napoleon's empire was the new Rome, unless it was the German empire (Kaiser=Caesar, did I mention Tsar is also the corrupted version of Caesar ?).

Nobody really knows for sure in the end, even if convincing theories exist. Personally, I feel like the main reason responsible for so many other reasons, is that the Roman empire was structurally defective from the start, especially the way successors were choosen. So the problem may have started since Augustus. Christianity is likely to have played a role too. Nothing, absolutely nothing changed the culture of the populations in those areas, as much as christianity did. It completely changed their world view, maybe the way romans operated and their system was less adapted to that new culture. In any case, it was very gradual process as you mentioned, the Roman empire visibly declined for like 200 years before it finally "fell" (it didn't really, but that's another matter). Which further shows the invasions aren't the primary cause, if Rome hasn't been so weakened it wouldn't have been such a big problem.

Dani

it’s probably similar stuff to what’s causing the american empire to fall lmao

Don't forget lead being used in the construction of parts of the aqueducts as a factor!

Joseph may look like a straightforward brute, but unlike Jonathan, he’s definitely the trickster/jokester type that’s gonna beat you with sleight of hand. 😂 All the cards in his sleeve had me dead. 😭

chopchop

Trust me that pillarman ost 'awake' is on every jojo fans gym playlist 😅

Zeppeli did briefly mention his family on his death bed in S1, noting that he abandoned them to pursue and put an end to the stone mask.
