By the way, the name "Mirai" means "Future"

@18:36 - Remember that Tsukasa's knowledge of the revival fluid comes from Senku. And all he definitively knows at this point is that the revival fluid undoes the petrification. Tsukasa did not know the exact details of how Senku survived his broken neck and therefore, did not know about the healing properties of the de-petrification. It was Senku that connected all the dots with his experiments and with "healing" Yuzuriha's foot that was still partly petrified in S1, E3 and further expanded in S1, E6. @18:46 - I think Wes is still mixing things up with the difference between the nitric acid and Senku's revival fluid. The "actively conscious mind" condition is related to the method of de-petrification of constant exposure to nitric acid. That's how Senku was able to come out of petrification and was later replicated with Taiju. The revival fluid that Senku was able to create uses a very specific ratio of nitric acid and alcohol that can trigger de-petrification instantly, regardless if the person has been conscious or not. Case in point when Senku was revived from a broken neck. He sure as hell was not conscious at the time. But the revival fluid triggered the de-petrification on that small portion of his neck and subsequently healed the broken spinal cord. That's also why the revival fluid is such a huge discovery. Without it, you could drag all the statues to the cave and expose them to the nitric acid and it would be completely random to whether or not the person is conscious. Plus it would take an extremely long time for a conscious person to finally break free.

Pretty sure Tsukasa didn’t know about the healing factor. That’s probably why he never attempted it in the first place. It wasn’t just the adult at the beach who hit him while he was collecting shells for his sister. When he visited her in the hospital, he was always alone, never with his parents. Later that day, when we saw him get home, the entire apartment was filled with trash bags and his mom/dad was drinking in front of the TV. Basically, he had horrible parents on top of everything else. (We only saw one silhouette, can’t tell if it’s a hint that one of them is dead, they’re divorced or something.) He probably felt abandoned, lonely and angry at the world, the system and especially the adults in general. He had nobody else to rely on, which is why he decided to change things on his own. So he started training and fighting to earn money, for his sister and to some extent, perhaps even for himself. I’m not trying to excuse him from destroying the statues. He knew he was essentially killing those people but his backstory is still pretty tragic.

It's been years since I thought abt this meme lmao

HAHAHA I was so confused by this comment until the point in the video where wes mentioned it XD

I know you guys are smart enough to try and guess WHY? the petrification is or where it comes from with more and more hints being sprinkled throughout the show.

CallMeSignal

Yeah, I honestly laughed when I first got to that part lol. Talk about an on-the-nose name.

It also makes sense to me why he didn't even try depetrifying her. From what we saw, seems Mirai was on life support. So if he depetrified her now, and she didn't heal? He'd have none of that life support technology, and she'd for sure die. But if she's left petrified, she's in limbo. Not harmed, not healed, just waiting. I wonder if he even had a plan for that at all, like... HOW to save his sister? Because he would 100% know that to save her life, science is still required. That's how you get treatment. So while he started off with ideology, trying to wipe away the "bad" adults, I wonder what his plan for reviving Mirai was, or if he even had any at all.

CallMeSignal

I'm surprised no one said this yet, but nitroglycerin is the stuff Bakugo sweats in MHA! Just to jog your memory. Maybe that's what you remembered it from, if not, as the episode said, it's the stuff used to make ye olde dynamite. And yeah, from what little I know, that thing is VOLATILE like nothing else, and highly explosive.

RCG

I don’t think he had a plan for her at all. The doctors said she was brain dead and she had been in that state for years and years. So, if the doctors and medical science back then couldn’t help her, it’s out of the question that it would be possible now in the Stone World. We don’t even know how potent the healing effect of the depetrification is. I would assume that healing a bone is far easier than healing someone’s brain in a case like this. It’s all a gamble.
