I always found the storylines with Martha and with Kimberly very uncomfortable and depressing, which of course is the whole point, but it is hard to watch. All of these characters become more humanized with every episode, resulting in us caring for people we may simultaneously despise. Yes, you should watch "Spy Game." I haven't seen it, but I'd love to watch it with you. By the way, I thought the finale to the "Sopranos" was brilliant. Everybody else is wrong.

The Sopranos ending is a masterpiece in my opinion and have looked at many theories behind it. Would love to watch Spy Game with you Jeff.

The Recruit movie is bad. The Recruit TV series (2023 Netflix) is wonderful, light-hearted, but not silly. Season 2 is already greenlit I believe. + Spy Game is fantastic, one of my favourite spy movies. Add it to your list. (My mate played the guitar riff on the movie, although his boss (correctly) got the screen credit). + Honey traps were definitely more of a Warsaw Pact thing than a Western one. I dunno about the training for that. I'm sure spies (asset recruiters / asset handlers) are taught multiple ways to consume alcohol and drugs while minimizing the impact. I remember one scene - from Spy Game possibly! - where the trainee is taught to consume cheese beforehand, since the fats soak up the alcohol.

Best quotes: Kevin - This makes me not want to have friends Joe - Did she just rent a dog? :) :) :) I don't know how much time you get to watch things individually or not on camera, but if you do and you want more spy-y things, highly suggest "Turn: Washington's Spies". It's another AMC show from 2014-17, only 4 seasons, 40 episodes. I don't think it's high profile enough to drive viewers either here or YouTube, but it is really really well done, and is LARGELY based on real people that were real spies in the Revolutionary War. Or maybe if you love the end of the Americans as much as the rest of the world, it'll replace this in your "spy" time slot lol. It's an 8.1 overall on IMDB (Americans is 8.4, Mad Men 8.7, West Wing 8.9, Good Place 8.2,. 30 Rock 8.3 etc). I think it got lost in the shuffle of the amazing series that all happened between about 2012 and 2021. Originally airing on February 25, 2015, ""Salang Pass"" is Episode 5 of Season 3 of The Americans. It is the 31st episode overall and has an IMDB rating of 8.1, placing it as the #7 ranked episode of this season and #12 out of all the episodes shown so far. P.S. I just watched an Americans Series Finale recap on YouTube from when it ended, and one of the panelists on there (it was a group of TV media/reviewers, not Americans fanboys/girls) said that immediately after watching it - only full run of The Sopranos and The Wire were better for him. I've got it 4th on my list, but I haven't seen Sopranos or Wire yet.

The Sopranos felt like they were treading water a bit towards the end, but definitely in my Top Ten Shows Of All Time. The Wire loses its way a bit in S4 and S5, but that just brings the show down to an eleven out of ten for me, still easily my Number One show of all time. (The West Wing is my rewatch favourite, but there's too many episodes that don't land for me to rate it all the way up, but still somewhere in the Top Ten for sure. Two Cathedrals is still my number one episode of any series though). The Americans has its issues, sure, but nonetheless makes my Top Five, when considered over all six seasons, an astonishing accomplishment.

Very well put - I've got WW at #2 and Americans at #4 in my Top 5. But I really need to watch shows like Sopranos, (finish) Breaking Bad, Better Call Saul, The Wire etc. I tried Dexter, Ozark and Six Feet Under but....not my genre (despite my admission that 6FU has the best ending of any show and probably can't be topped).
