"Red Haven's on Fire" - my bad!

One of the contributing factors to the success of doctors is the dedication and hard work of teachers. The amount of resources and funds teachers invest in their students far exceeds what doctors spend on medical supplies for their patients. Considering this, it may be beneficial to explore the possibility of providing tax credits for teachers.

yay, for reals for reals, for cereal for real!

Just an idea…when you guys get to the end of the series, can you do a wrap up video or even a live chat?

I love that this episode mentions John Rawl's "Veil of Ignorance" idea, since that is literally the foundation of my political philosophy. I can think of a lot of people would do well to look into it...

Originally airing on February 26, 2003, 'Red Haven's on Fire' is Episode 17 of Season 4 of The West Wing. It is the 83rd episode overall and has an IMDB rating of 7.8, placing it as the #16 ranked episode of this season and #72 out of all the episodes shown so far.

One of the benefits of watching your reactions to several different shows is that we get to hear Kevin repeatedly butcher the name "Svier-la Kee-ko-nitz". Makes me smile every time. No spoilers here, but next week's episode is considered a fan favorite, and it's one I return to every time I need a random "West Wing" fix. Then you'll get the final five episodes of the season, which I absolutely love. I'm really excited to see your reactions!

Interesting fact about the actress who portrayed Mrs. Rowe, Carrie Snodgress, she was the originally chosen for Adrian in Rocky. She was replaced by Talia Shire, due to a salary dispute. This is the last appearance of Elsie on the show. Another cast member sent to “Mandyvile”.

Watching him do names is one of the highlights of my day! Love a good fan favorite, this season has been stellar!

I like that Sam starts his last scene as a main cast member by walk-and-talking so fast that he left Toby behind. (mEtAPhoR??)

I wonder, is it a real things, that family members of hostages would be invited to the white house, or someplace similar, just to sit there, and wait with staff/politicians? I mean, it could be a nice gesture, but I assume the white house may have better things to do than comfort the relatives for hours and hours. And, especially, I think it would be actually bad for those invited. In a situation like this, I would want to be with friends and familty, or alone, dunno. But certainly not sitting around nervously with politicians or government people, for hours. I'd just totally fall apart.

You guys have said that you'll listen to the podcast once you finish the entire series. Is there any way you'll be able to share your thoughts on that? The podcast totally evolved the way I had thought about the show, so I'm curious to see what you guys think.

My uncle was a CIA lifer. He did NOT talk about his work, but he was out of town a lot. When he passed away a few years ago, my grandmother was still living then, in her 90s. She and my mother went to the funeral home to prep his service. This is the conversation they had with the funeral director: FUNERAL DIRECTOR: And what did the deceased do for a living? MOM: He worked for the government. FUNERAL DIRECTOR: Oh! What did he do? MOM: He worked in intelligence. FUNERAL DIRECTOR: I see. What was his job? MOM: I’m not really sure. FUNERAL DIRECTOR: Did he have a job title? GRANDMA: WETWORK. He did wetwork. Is that what you wanted to know? FUNERAL DIRECTOR: Very good, ma’am.

I love that you're looking forward to the podcast. In an earlier episode a guest tells a great story about a time they used a branded alcohol in an episode.

Yannick Denis-Trudel

Yeah, in "Bartlet for America", during Leo's testimony in congress, he explains to Jordan the story of "Johnnie Walker Blue"... in the podcast, they explain why they did that, and why NBC banned them from ever using real alcoholic brands ever after ;-) And if you fear of future spoilers during the following of the podcast, they really make sure it's spoiler-free... but it's REALLY spoiler free because the initial creator of the podcast (Hrishikesh Hirway, he also did Song Exploder) is a Sorkin fan first and foremost, so he'd never seen any episode past season 4 before doing the podcast! So for seasons 5-6-7, he's commenting pretty much like you guys do (well... he sees it, takes notes, and then tape the podcast with Joshua Malina) But they manage to get amazing guests, with very interesting stories to tell. Absolutely worth it. My suggestion, after taping your next WW episode, listen to the podcast of that episode. You'll see the type of information. And I'm not worried AT ALL about spoilers for you, it's very safe.

I'm also excited for season 5, some of the best episodes in the show are in 5, and season 7 too, I LOVE season 7
