I was looking forward to your reaction to this episode in particular, and you did not disappoint! I've seen a lot of reactors to this series, and you guys are definitely the champs at figuring out Michael's secret code before it was revealed; most don't detect it at all. (I certainly didn't.) Also, kudos for catching "What the here, man?" on first hearing. (It's typically the thing I point out in these comments, but I don't need to!)

I’m impressed you figured out he was giving them secret clues and even what some of the clues might be. Also I never noticed the “what the here” line before! So funny.

I am incredibly impressed how early you caught onto the clues and figured out most of that. Well done! I didn't catch it at all.

EXCUSE YOU! The robot is hilarious and just helps to take Rocky IV to its unique OVER THE TOP 80s excellence.

Your request for Adam Scott to make an appearance is an interesting one. You guys are actually currently watching both this and another show which each lost an interesting and influential supporting character because in each case the actor involved got cast as a lead in another new show. IIRC neither of those other shows worked / survived, but only one actor makes a return to the show you are watching. Time will tell!

Thank you! I feel like after watching season 1, we're going over everything with a fine tooth comb. We deeply love this show, and it was a fantastic episode!

That line really got me! We gotta pay close attention never know what curve balls they're gunna throw us!

Derek! my only gripe with this episode were, ironically, Derek and Janet. don't you find that Derek suddenly became a bit too intelligent? sure, he still cannot talk properly but he understood and executed all the instructions perfectly, even though he was literally born yesterday and hadn't been rebooted even once? I find his intelligence generally a bit too fluid and always adjusted to match size of the plot hole :D he's charming, of course. and Janet: she was supposed to be drunk on magnets and unable to help them but she still managed to find and bring Derek and then hid and remained quiet for hours on end? did Shawn underestimate her? was the goal just to prevent her from driving the train, and nothing else? that left me a bit confused. I don't have too much experience with drunk people but I remember Johnny Depp once saying in an interview that kids behaved like tiny drunk people and since I know kids are unpredictable and uncontrollable, I somehow expected drunk people to be the same :D

Adam Scott left to star in Ghosted which lasted for a single season. I think I watched the pilot episode and was underwhelmed. Scott's screen wife was played by Britt Lower who would go on to co-star with him in Severance, my favorite show of 2022. She's so good in that, that I might go back and watch more Ghosted just for her. Margo Martindale was the other actor, she stepped out for a season of The Americans to co=star in a season and a half(!) of The Millers. The silver lining of course was that the brilliant Frank Langella was brought in to play Gabriel, a fab-favorite character. Both actors were eventually in and around The Americans from then on.
