Final scene was so good... the FBI is closer than they think. Junior's snapshot peering down at the captains from his high perch, a great little moment.

Capo = Captain Puttan = Whore (You smell like a French puttan). Think those were the two word questions you had.

Brian Harris

Capo is an underboss. If you think of the Mafia as a paramilitary organization, like Pussy described to Christopher, the boss is the general and the capo is like a colonel. Technically, Junior isn’t even boss of the family. The boss of the family is Eckley DiMeo, who’s in prison. Junior is a street boss, sort of like a lieutenant general, who’s running things while DiMeo is unavailable. Tony is like a colonel. The other capos (Ray, Jimmy, etc) are colonels too … but Tony’s close ties to Junior and his leadership skills place him firmly at the head of that pack, and make him the most likely successor to Junior, and therefore to DiMeo.

Just a fun fact. The only episode to ever have a cold open is actually 46 long. The 2nd episode of season 1. There was about a year hiatus between the filming of the pilot and the second episode, the show was def still trying to find its footing in the earlier seasons.

I accidentally put this under The Americans video...because I'm an idiot lol I will say this show is well known for having characters/situations in episodes where there are things that are never resolved or even mentioned again. People still ask David Chase about certain episodes and what happened etc, and he just says “I don’t know. In life most things don’t wrap up neatly, so why shouldn’t things be like that on the show.”

Kevin L

I'll bet David Chase doesn't like cold opens, so once was enough. In interviews he's stated how he only ever wanted to make films, not TV, and the cold open is a TV convention.

Actuarial Lurker

Kevin- Capo is short for "Capo Regime" a made man who leads a "crew" and reports to the Boss or the Under-Boss. In Godfather Part 1, Don Vito Corleone was the Boss, Sonny as the eldest son was the Underboss but was also a Capo, as were Clemenza and Tessio, since they dated back to the flashbacks in Part 2 as his early henchmen. So Tony is essentially the Underboss as the first among equals of the other capos when he steps aside and lets Uncle Jr be a "figurehead" Don

And as pointed out by @Brian Harris above, there is the real boss who we haven't even seen who is in prison and we haven't seen communicate with anyone at all, but I ignore Eckley DiMeo since he is a non-entity (so far). In the wiki backstory for Eckley he ran the family since the 1950s but got LIFE in prison in 1995 before the show starts so Jackie Sr (who just died of cancer) has been running things for several years already when Season 1 opens
