Hello, Patrons! In an attempt to help with improving our equipment we use (Joe's computer just died for real. RIP), we are adding a new higher tier to our Patreon. The first benefit is the Patron shout-out by name on all videos posted for Patreon and YouTube edits for as long as you are a member of this tier. We will no longer be doing welcome shout-outs to all new members. We will also do periodic Q&A posts for members of this tier. These Q&A's will be addressed personally but will not yet be part of live streaming until we master the best way to handle those down the road. (Keep in mind, overly personal questions or those that might risk our basic privacy will be addressed as vaguely as we can get away with).

Prices for the tier you all belong to currently are not changing, and we thank each of you for your continued support!

Whos asking private questions lmao

Since Joe and Kevin said they are from the Midwest (I grew up in NYC and live in the suburbs so comment a lot on locale specific things fro the Mad Men and Sopranos reactions since I am from the area) and they post things that appear to be uploaded late at night even on the East coast, and they have a very "blue-state" ideology, I asked them in a private direct message where they are located and Joe told me the state but NOT the city (which I will not divulge for the sake of privacy). We know Joe was a film major but don't know anything else about Kevin. Frankly I don't want to know anything else personal given the state of this country and its political divisions EXCEPT perhaps how they met, what got Kevin interested in film since we know how Joe did via his prior interests and his college major. Some Q&A I would be interested in is the films and shows that they HAVE watched, their favorite directors and actors etc. It would be interesting to make suggestions like to have them add MORE color to their already excellent reactions by say commenting on camera angles, filming techniques etc (which to their credit they HAVE done from time to time during Mad Men and the Sopranos. For example in the Season 7 Episode 1 opener to Mad Men the filming techniques of the opening character is "classic" and interesting as are some of the techniques used throughout Mad Men Season 7 which rise to the level of "art films" with some brilliant cinematography. An example of Mad Men Season 5 would be the dripping faucet in Signal 30, Ken's outro commentary as he changes pseudonyms, the use of first person internal monologue to get in Don's head during Season 4's "Summer Man" when he is "journaling". etc The choice to discover Lane "face-to-face" rather than the implication of Don's brother Adam...

Joe and Kevin- just upgraded- I appreciate your time and work doing this. I know how much time, effort and cost that takes. As part of a business initiative a few years back a few colleagues of mine and I created a pair of 100 hour plus education courses intended to provide people in my industry with annual continuing education credits to remain professionally certified and we hosted on an unlisted YouTube channel. I was one of the content creators but my colleague had the nightmare of editing content, synching with PowerPoint slides, adding close captioning, making sure our fonts were ADA-compliant so that our corporate clients who had color-blind employees could use the graphic materials etc....so I know first-hand what 2 guys working a side-gig need to do to push out regular content! The only "easy part" of your job is the voice content is extemporaneous. We had scripted technical voiceovers and had to record in "garage band" and edit out the "ummms", flubs, breathing noise etc- it took 30 minutes just to voiceover a 7 minutes technical script and I had taken several professional voice-over acting courses at NYU because people have told me since I was teen that I sounded like a disc jockey, and even then it was hard!

Not to mention those thick Minnesota accents of theirs

LMAO - I'm in MN - pretty sure I already know which state J&K are in based on some previous clothing and comments :)

I've always considered $5/month a bargain compared to the value provided and what other reactors charge

I was just thinking that I should really jump on the treadmill while watching along with these videos. Then I thought what if Joe and Kevin bought themselves treadmills with their Patreon money and started walking on their treadmills while recording, would they change it to Walking with Joe and Kevin? Just kidding, keep doing what you’re doing guys.

I mean, I could definitely use the hours on a treadmill. But we would have to re-think our wired equipment!

People on Patreon have been great. But some of the stuff people post on YouTube gets WEEEEEEIRD. One guy on The West Wing (the Butterball Hotline Episode) enquired as to which one of us was "the woman" (?).
