I love this episode. I remember the first time I watched it, the line "Seriously ? Our daughter's a gay !" made me spill milk all over my keyboard. Not a fun cleanup, I assure you. The actresses who play the teenage parents did a great job replicating the mannerisms of the main cast, but I also find it amazing how they were able to find actresses that look so much like younger versions of the parents - for Geraldine in particular it's uncanny !

I absolutely LOVE this episode. The way the younger actresses perfectly play the roles and balance the mannerisms of both the main girls and their mothers is incredible. I can’t believe you only have two episodes left! I do feel like this show does a great job of wrapping up in the last episode. Excited to finish the journey with you both!

This series, and especially this episode in particular, portrays all the awkwardness, absurdity, and angst of adolescence (how's that for awesome alliteration?) without getting too dark and depressing. And I think you're going to really enjoy the season finale.

Post Derry Girls recommendations! 1. Bad Sisters (on Apple). Five Irish sisters get mixed up in a murder mystery, wonderfully written and hilariously acted. 2. We Are Lady Parts (Channel 4 / Peacock) - five young British Muslim women form a punk band...because of course they do. Completely different fare, and hilarious. Season 2 dropping soon (edit: already available on Peacock)

I love this show, and this episode is one of my favs. One recommendation to keep with the lovely Irish vibes is the 2016 film Sing Street. It's truly one of my favorites and hasn't been seen by nearly enough people.

fun fact: the actor who plays the surgeon is in reality the husband of the creator of this series. The creator of the series said that Erin was basically her as a teenager. And, another fun fact, she likes to call her husband (the actor who plays the surgeon) "the Big English fella"... mmh it seems like James and Erin are really meant to be
