I probably say this with every episode, but James Gandolfini's acting in this one is superb. It's no surprise he won three Emmys for this role. And yes, Livia is probably the worst human being on this show, and that's saying a lot. One of the best things about this amazing show (similarly to The West Wing) is how humor is strewn in throughout the show - as ridiculous as Dr. Mop-and-Glow is, he still comes in serious like a real doctor lol

The series has been really, really good so far....but for me this is where they jumped up to an even higher level that ran through the rest of the show.

John Heard's character isn't being mean calling the ladies low class - he's not there for that. He is there for the listening and the support, not unsimilar to Tony with Melfi...whatever socioeconomic strata the people who help you live in.

Nope, don't feel sorry for her at all. David Chase wrote the character based on his similar and extremely complicated relationship with his mother. My mom is great, but she is Italian and so there is some of the guilt/manipulation. NOWHERE near what she's doing....she's teaching a masterclass, and Chase started the show with that as one of the most important relationships.

Just because I'm old and have had one not too long ago, but CT scans are definitely diagnostically relevant to back injuries. It does mostly focus on musculoskeletal issues like vertebrae issues, compression fractures, bone malformations. That gives them a lot of info, but if it's muscle strains/tears/pulls, they go to X-Rays and MRI scans that show more about the muscles, tendons, ligaments, etc.

Stick with it my brother, she is terrible, but beginning of season 2 we get one of the best and purest characters in the entire show - Bobby Baccala. Also no, she is absolutely a manipulative monster just doing things for her own amusement.

Paulie actually did a REALLY good job at letting Tony get on him physically about if he had hit Big Pussy. Tony knew it was intense, but when he told him honestly a couple of times he had to say, "Now get your fucking hands off me!" No made member is allowed to touch another made member, and that could have been a much bigger thing, but thankfully Paulie understood for a moment, but there are always limits.

Junior is a good shit....just working with his ego he thinks he deserves, and then having to deal with Olivia mind-fucking him.
