You might already know this but “The Gothic Castle” is based on a real place/organization in LA called “The Magic Castle” and you have to be invited by a real registered magician to go there. My boyfriend took me there for my birthday because he happens to know a magician and it’s a very big deal to get to go there. The dress code is very formal and they’re strict about it. There’s a rule that the only reason a man can have his suit jacket off at dinner is if his companion is cold and they’re being a gentleman. The dinner is super fancy and formal with multiple courses. Then you can go to the lounge or the bar where the bartenders do card tricks and close up magic. In the lounge there is a piano that plays itself and it used to be a big deal because it could ask it to play any song and it would do it but now Alexa does the same thing. The big show is in the theater where it’s usually a magician from Vegas who is well known in the magic world (I didn’t know who the magician was but I looked him up) and it was the best magic show I’ve ever seen. It ended up being one of my most favorite birthdays. So I highly recommend it if you’re ever in LA and personally know a professional magician who can invite you. They also have a magic school so I guess you could also go there and become a magician so you can invite yourself.

When I was in grade school I was really into Chris Angel Mind Freak. LMAO I really thought that guy was cool! That being said Penn and Teller are really fun and I would love to see them or a legitimate magician live.

I agree completely that comedy is something you usually need to do for a long time to get good at it. I just do stand up for fun, but definitely can look back at things I did even a couple years ago and just cringe.
