If nothing else, excellent shirt choices by each of you today. 🙂

No surprise, this is one of my favorite episodes of the show. D'Arcy Carden is phenomenal. She was nominated for this season, but she lost the Emmy to Annie Murphy from Schitt's Creek. I love the moment with Chidi and Eleanor. And Chidi doesn't even have any of his memories from the afterlife, like Eleanor does, and he *still* realizes he's in love with her -- like he presumably did all those other times.

Now you know why so many of us were saying last week that THIS episode was a great one! D'Arcy Carden is a wonder. Don't forget that in addition to Janet and the 4 humans (sometimes pretending to be each other), she also played Neutral Janet in this episode.

Not only was D'Arcy Carden amazing, but this episode had so many hilarious lines. More importantly, I'm diggin' the new summery shirt, Joe. And most importantly, the cat is adorable. Whose is it, and what's its name?

Yeah. This episode was, no joke, a masterpiece all the way around. Using Janet in the roles of both Chidi and Elanor to express their feelings for each other was so wildly original and unexpected.

D'Arcy Carden really earned her paycheck this episode; she basically had to just play all the roles. She was in every scene, usually playing off herself. I doubt she got much rest during this episode's shoot.

We had a Feels Like of 108 yesterday.... I'm off to Tampa for the weekend to cool down....

I told you there'd be a masterclass in impersonation acting. But the sheer cojones to even conceive of this episode can't be understated. And not only an amazing bottle episode, but one that advanced the plot arc.

This is my favorite episode. Carden crushes it on every level.

The number of hours she probably had to put in on camera alone during this episode's shoot must have been massive.

Not only does Stephen Merchant appear in the original British Office, but he actually created, wrote and directed it along with Gervais. My favorite role he's done is the voice of Wheatley the robot in Portal 2.

I love how much D'Arcy Carden nails all the characters. The writing also does well to remind you of who each character is but her performance carries it. I love the Tahani line "I find this void quite calming, actually. It's like, this time, the Xanax took me" feels exactly like something she'd say lol and it's delivered so well

Something that re-watching this episode made me realize, is that the acting is so good that in my memory when I thought of moments from this episode, I had remembered it as the characters looking as they do, not like Janet, because the clothes and performance just completely embody Chidi, Jason, Eleanor and Tahani

THAT CAT IS SO CUTE (and needy lol)

On the podcast, D’Arcy talked about how they all recorded their lines for her, and she would just constantly listen to them to get comfortable talking like them. She saw William Jackson Harper from her car and when she rolled her window down to talk to him, he heard their voices just blaring from her car. Apparently his reaction was, “Awww, you’ve gone crazy!”

A (somewhat) comprehensive list of all the characters D'arcy Carden played in this one episode: Janet Eleanor Chidi Tahani Jason Eleanor mocking Tahani Neutral Janet Eleanor pretending to be Jason Jason pretending to be Eleanor I cannot imagine how much hard work she put into this, but it HELLA paid off and I'm so glad this episode became a fan favourite!
