Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban. First Time Watching reaction

Great reaction guys, as always! This is possibly the best movie/book in the franchise in all honesty (and in my opinion) it really ups the anti for the next lot in the series, without being too heavy straight off the bat. Plus the addition of two of the best and most complicated characters in the series, Sirius Black and Remus Lupin. One of my favourite little bits from the books that isn’t really talked about in the movie (but is alluded to) is the beef between Hermione’s cat Crookshanks and Petter Pettigrew as Scabbers. Crookshanks is half-Kneazle, a cat breed with crazy high intelligence and intuitive ability within the wizarding world. This allows Crookshanks to see people, or other creatures, hidden intentions, so when he’s constantly chasing after scabbers it’s because Crookshanks knows he’s hiding something and is trying to protect Harry. I’d say, in terms of the movie within the franchise that is a little less well received by fans is probably Goblet of Fire because its deviation from the source material. Don’t get me wrong, it’s an awesome movie, but for some die hard potter fans, it’s was quite annoying to see things left out of the movie or changed in some way. Anyway, can’t wait for the next reaction, it’s a fun one! Enjoy it while it lasts 😂

This movie was huge, it catapulted the series into serious drama where they were just fun kids' movies before. And this was still a great kids' movie, it had that adventuresome feel but with much higher stakes. Obviously all the actors are amazing in this series, but Emma really shined in this one, I think this was my favorite performance from her. Rupert didn't have as much to work with in this film, but "you were over there!" kills me every time. And Daniel really starts to show his range here. Azkaban is a great film to rewatch because you'll pick up on all the foreshadowing building up to the big reveal in the shrieking shack. Great job identifying Lupin right away. :)

Can't wait for the rewatch on this one. When I was a kid, "kids movies" were pretty tame. Really jealous I missed out on this one. At least my parents were cool, I grew up with Indiana Jones, Star Wars and Mad Max lol

So far we're 3 for 3! I think this was both our favorite. Lupin was my favorite character in this film. Love that we didn't get the Crookshanks beef because when the reveal happens, it makes all the foreshadowing so strong.

A completely random thought came to me. Have you guys seen Netflix's The Sandman series (10+1 bonus episodes, 1 season so far, renewed for Season 2)? It is based on Neil Gaiman's Sandman graphic novels, is fantastic in the very best sense of the world, interesting, oftentimes deep and thought-provoking, while being thoroughly entertaining. And a personal favorite of mine. It has David Thewlis in it (very un-Lupiny role), as well as Gwendoline Christie (being as non-Brienne as physically and spiritually possible), just to name two actors from your current reactions. Along with many-many other incredible talents starring, too. So, if you have not yet watched Sanman privately, I think it would be a splendid addition to your repertoir of reactions.
