So, this episode makes it clear, in case any doubt subsided, that things are not gonna get any less dark this season - the final scene is just rough. Also, among the new characters introduced this episode, one is among my favorite in the entire show, and another might be my most hated one ! Not gonna tell you who they are because I don't wanna influence you, but I'm really looking forward to seeing what opinions you form on them.

Peter Dinklage's performance keeps baffling me, because he's amazing, and he really shines in this season, but his accent choice especially in these early seasons is so weird. I'm American and even I can hear how weird it is, I don't really know what he was trying for with it. Jaime's actor is Danish but he does a passable posh British accent. I could not in a million years have the acting chops Dinklage shows as Tyrion, but that accent is still weird

I had no idea the actor who plays Jaime was Danish lol. Dinklage's accent might be strange but the performance itself is magnificent. So much charisma coming off the screen

I'm watching for the first time along with you and the temptation to watch ahead each week is killing me lol

The episode that George R.R. Martin wrote in Season 1 was 1x8 “The Pointy End”, which opened with the massacre of the Stark household in King’s Landing by the Lannisters and closed with the firing/resignation of Ser Barristan from the King’s Guard and Sansa begging mercy for her father. The episode that George R.R. Martin wrote for Season 2 is 2x9, the penultimate episode.

That was a really good episode. Are his episodes usually considered good or among the best of the season?

TouchTheGarlic

His episodes in Seasons 2 & 4 are considered to be the best (or among the best) of their respective seasons. His episodes in Seasons 1 & 3 are considered to be par for the course in their respective seasons (although par for the course in early Thrones is still very very good television).

I'm not 100% sure, just read it second-hand, but I've seen that actually the story about Jack Gleeson retiring because of rude fan attacks is, actually, aprocryphal. Some people involved with the show made it up retrospectively. So, if the gossip is true, Jack just stopped acting because he wanted to do other things, and actually got lots of love from fans. This feels like a perfectly normal thing for a kid actor, who had huge deals of acting responsibilities and tasks thrust upon him at an early age, and just was not sure this was something he would do forever. And, after a few-year break, he now seems to be picking up some roles. I do hope this is the true version, feels so much better.

Youtalkingtome

I hope this is true as well. He is so talented and I would love to see him in another role. Especially one that is not as villainous

A little behind the scenes knowledge. Lena Headey (Cersei) and Jerome Flynn (Bronn) were in a relationship before the show started. They broke up and rarely share any scenes together on the series.

heheheheheh

Game of Thrones the show is good, because The Song Of Ice And Fire book series is excellent. They started running out of material around season 4-5...and yeah. There was a considerable dip in writing quality (if not the CGI/special effects quality).

Youtalkingtome

I really can't wait to see that. I know that sounds weird but it's all subjective and I really wanna see what works for me and what doesn't
