Another great one! You guys are so right about the long game on so many jokes set up for payoff later. MUCH later. If you ever go back and watch it all again from the start you'll be LOLing at little jokes that zoomed right past you the first time because they didn't mean anything if you didn't know what was coming down the road. This show isn't just made for streaming, it's made for REPEAT streaming.

Gene Parmesan is one of the best/most memorable side characters in the Arrested Development universe.

So true, and one of the joys of rewatching. I was just rewatching some of their earlier reactions, and in Charity Drive, Johnny Bark’s tree gets bulldozed when he leaves it, and he says “that’s why you never leave the tree” ala “that’s why you always leave a note” lol

So if you didn’t catch it, this episode kinda continues the Friends homage with the title being friends in Spanish lol (I haven’t watched yet, I’ll be able to do so tomorrow)

You really have to give the writers a hand, they are so good at setting up jokes, sometimes several episodes ahead. Like I love that they already set up Gob’s chicken dance and Egg being completely forgettable, and yet they when those jokes show up again they feel like they are coming out of nowhere despite being perfectly set up.

In a normal show, the line, "Like you’re a little Ann hog, okay? Don’t be such an Ann hog." Would simply be a funny joke in its own right. On Arrested Development it is just a set up for "hey check out who is on that hog in the rear view mirror!"

Henry Winkler and Martin Mull are the 2 best running gags in the show haha. Such great casting.

I love the running gag of Michael always changing Ann’s name to whatever they’ve been talking about. Egg, Hog, Plant lol
