I can't believe Lorelai thought that whole General Hospital monolog was the correct way to ease into a conversation about Rory's love life...

This entire episode is about how not okay Lorelai is with the "guy thing." But also how determined she is to prove to everyone she is okay with it. Which leads to a lot of unhinged behavior, ranging from stalking a teenage boy in the grocery store to arranging a first date and inviting herself along.

That candy would cost $72 today. So they absolutely bought an absurd amount of candy.

The whole point of a movie date is that there is something to focus on so it isn't awkward. And you don't wind up horribly embarrassing the person who is supposed to be on a date.

"I wish I could binge it." I certainly have NOT been binging this since you started and I'm absolutely NOT getting close to season 3. You know... when this came out I was a little hesitant about the show. Lauren Grahams character on Caroline in the City annoyed me so much. She was kind of like a less sophisticated Lorelai... and I was just in the way of Lea Thompson having a happy relationship.

I have been with my partner for 13 years and I was still mildly shocked when my mum once text him directly to invite him to a party instead of doing it through me :D. Can't imagine what I would have thought if she had invited my bf over when I was 16. I do wonder though how long a first date between Rory and Dean would have taken to happen without Lorelai's intervention. Three seasons maybe? :P As for Lorelai's talk with Dean, I have no idea if these parent-boyfriend talks actually happened in real life but they always seemed wildly inappropriate to me. A real over-step. Otherwise a nice episode.

Welcome! We upload on the days we watch. Sunday - For All Mankind and Game of Thrones. Monday - Gilmore Girls, Arrested Development, West Wing, and 30 Rock. Tuesday - The Sopranos. Wednesday - Good Place, The Wire, The Americans. Friday - New Girl and a movie.

I love this show so much! There were more laughs in this one episode alone than in whole seasons of other "comedy" shows. And by the way, everything that Lorelei explained was happening on "General Hospital" was entirely accurate, including the new Lucky's overuse of hairgel. (And, in case you suddenly find yourself interested in watching soaps, the old Lucky just returned and reunited with Liz ... 24 years later.)

Scott Patterson plays Luke. Unfortunately, he was not in a lot of things afterwards...He was on Saw 4 and Saw 5 (I've never seen the films so I can't say more) and he currently is on Sullivan's Crossing, a Canadian romantic drama along with...Chad Michael Murray ! It seems to be successful because they've been renewed for a 3rd season.

I’m new here. I completely understand the copyright issue. Is there a way to have a clock on screen just so we can know where in the episode you are. I have Netflix with ads. Plus, it helps if we can’t sit down for the whole thing at once.

I was hoping for her to sneak the corn starch in with the contents of the fridge spread out on the floor. Could just picture Lorelai barely noticing it when packing stuff back in and then realizing when she goes to bed and not sleeping all night. Like "what in the Hell did I put next to what to make it mutate into corn starch?"
