The cancer actress is soooo good. Every scene with her is terrifying. The paintings were commissioned from a New York artist that specializes in the rainy window effect.

Now that you've learned the tricks of the trade with The Good Place (finale), I strongly recommend that you likewise carve out quality time for The Americans finale, ideally with a postmortem session a week or two afterwards.

The air force general is indeed the guy from the S1 finale, that explained to Philip that Star Wars was a trillion-dollar pipe dream. (Meanwhile Elizabeth was at the supposedly-safe pick up of the data from Casper Weinburger's office clock). Brilliant call-back. 🤩

One of the first names in the credits of The West Wing is Deborah Cahn, who is now the showrunner for The Diplomat (Keri Russell) which is a pretty fun show, recommended viewing.

Matthew Rhys and John Krasinski just got named as the leads of a new show.

I gotta get around to The Americans but Matthew Rhys is so great as a voice actor as the villain in The Owl House and as a radically different character in the last season of Tuca & Bertie.

I have really enjoyed the first season of The Diplomat.

Weird Magic

After last week's show I binge watched the rest of the Season, couldn't help it. Just curious if I've missed one or two - but have Philip and Elizabeth ever intentionally killed anyone for no reason? Hasn't it always been to cover their tracks as spies? They also haven't killed at least 4 that they could have (Martha, Pastor Tim & wife, and that guy in the factory early on where Liz took a pic of his kids and said to be quiet about it). If they were American CIA agents in Russia doing the same thing "killing the enemy of my country" I'm not sure you'd want to see them dead or punished for making sure they could do their jobs. :) But that's what makes this show fascinating to me as someone who grew up in the 80's and remember the anti-communist sentiment. We weren't that different from them at the time and we're seeing it from their side quite a bit in this story. Besides, you guys love John Snow et al from Game of Thrones I assume...is it any different what P&E are doing than what they do with their swords?

I normally post it after seasons, but since this is the last one I will mention for your viewing entertainment as we progress, Matthew Rhys did win an Emmy for is acting in this Season. Originally airing on April 4, 2018, 'Tchaikovsky' is Episode 2 of Season 6 of The Americans. It is the 67th episode overall and has an IMDB rating of 8.1, placing it as the #9 ranked episode of this season and #30 out of all the episodes shown so far.
