Another classic banger, I watched this many times in the 90s. Great pick. Edit: Happy Birthday Peggy G! For years as a Southern California resident I quoted my favorite line from this movie, "Actually, there is no Hell. Although I hear Los Angeles is getting pretty close".

Mike Friedman

One of my all-time favorites! Great movie.

Brina Blue

This is one of my all time favorite movies and I also really love the score. I remember watching it at the time and really enjoying the world building and it left me wanting to know more about the amenities! Happy Birthday Peggy G and thanks for the memories!

Absolute chef's kiss to this movie!!! Albert Brooks has always been on the cutting edge of comedy. I unfortunately can't afford to buy one, but if I could I would recommend the movie Mother with him and Debbie Reynolds. It's hilarious.

I haven't checked, but I think this might be the first Albert Brooks directed movie I've seen. I loved the layers to this film and his character in particular.

Peggy G

I've loved this movie for decades & I've seen it a million times... up until you included his name in the cast list, I never knew that Steve was played by a young Ethan Embry!! I love that I learned something new by requesting this movie!! 🫶

Yeah, his movies definitely do that. The synopsis of Mother is like "After a divorce a man moves back in with his mother." But oh, it is sooo much more.

Actuarial Lurker

Seen this 3 or 4 times. Dryly funny. Classic is the Shirley MacClane Pavilion where you can view details from your past lives

I've never seen "Lost in America" (1986) or "Mother" (1996) the latter of which stars Debbie Reynolds. Since Kevin just saw her in Singing in the Rain from 1952 this lets you see her 44 years later...
