They 100% did not pay for that cake.

Jonathan

Emily being cool at the Drag show doesn’t surprise me. People from Emily’s world usually act so uptight because it’s ingrained into them to to always put off an appearance of superiority whether it’s around their “friends” or the staff at the house. At the show she had nobody to show off for so she could be herself. It also might have been the manhattans helping too. Figured I made coffee before this episode and then I just wanted long island iced tea.

Jonathan

I always wondered if the max storyline was some network interference to add a love triangle aspect, because the speed at which we got through this never sat well with me.

Why go with a Mussolini quote for your wedding when Stalin is right there! "The only real power comes out of a long rifle."

Peter

You have never seen Life of Brian!?!?!?! What have you been doing the last twenty years!

Peter

They got a good crowd for the debut of this crosswalk.

There’s a throwaway joke in a Scrubs episode about JD and Turk being into Gilmore Girls, where we just get a cutaway to one of them calling the other on the phone at night and opening with, “I am SO mad at Lorelai!!” I always imagined this was the episode they both just watched. Poor Max.

Peter

Think this is Emily's first Bachelorette party?

Peter

Speaking of red flags, the entire drag club was colored red.

You enjoy that LIT, I am not a fan. I'll stick with my coffee! I love that she can be herself. Seeing Emily let her hair down is a lot of fun.

Roland Cooke

THEM! is an amazing movie from the golden age of science fiction / monster movies.

Yasemin

I liked Lorelai's t-shirt, "Danger".

Yasemin

You thought Fran was 60? More like 80. :)

Yasemin

Best shot of the episode, Luke and Lorelai standing under the Chuppah.

Yasemin

Queen Emily. One of the best characters of the show.

James B.

Meaning of Life Is my favorite. Think it's a better vehicle for their talents.

Youtalkingtome

I was stunned at the jump from "we are going to be apart for the summer" to the collapse of their relationship. I need to see the fallout from this episode before I know how to feel about how it was handled.

Youtalkingtome

Unlike Joe, I love a LIT. That does make sense for Emily; she is away from her fiefdom, and less concerned with what everyone else is doing (it was kind of the same when she and Rory went shopping in Stars Hollow).

Allison O

It sort of makes sense if they wrote and made season one not knowing if it would be successful, and then when it was clear the show would go on for more seasons they wanted to move on from the Max relationship.

I get that the conversation where lorelai tells max the wedding's off would be really tense and heartbreaking but to just have it off-screen feels so weird. At least mention to Rory that you talked to him or something. This episode makes it look like she's running away and leaving him at the altar

Aude M

"AITA for leaving town and running away with my daughter two days before my fiance and I are supposed to get married?" It just made me think about these reddits where people are sharing their crazy stories about weddings, and such, crazy bridesmaids or mother-in-laws, etc. :D

Aude M

The next episode is one of my favorites. I always enjoy watching it.

Roland Cooke

Everything about the crosswalk traffic light scene annoyed me, but I guess that was the point.... :)

David En-Griffiths

I am not a fan of Max much this episode. Rory is too old to be parented that directly by a stepdad. She is less than two years from moving out for college. On the other hand, he definitely should have had a key before a wedding date was announced :P. Seems like the minimum. Nice getting some emotion from Emily too.
