So, how have you been?

Both Comcast and AT&T suck! I had the best week ever two weeks ago when I got to cancel my accounts with both. So satisfying

Chris H.

I mean, we've all been there, no worries. When I moved across the country, I had everything synched up so that the day I moved in, my internet would be connected, and even a lot of furniture that I wasn't moving with me and bought as new would be delivered. And my Pod with all my stuff in it would show up also that day. And then I got to the airport and my flight was cancelled and I wasn't able to get to my new digs until a day later. And when I did get there (on a day when it was 103 degrees outside), the keys that I'd been given didn't work. So yeah. Enjoy the new place, glad all is well, other than frustration. :D

These things happen. As someone in the midst of a move myself, I totally sympathise!

Curtis Higareda

Out of curiosity, do you use fiber or cable internet? If cable, do you have any fiber options? We swore by cable for so long, but honestly getting fiber internet changed everything...l

Ashley Thomas

do you at least really like your new place?

Ashley Thomas

yeah but itll feel good when youre done. a fresh start is always so nice. and you don't have to do it all at once. just get out the essentials and don't push yourself too much.

How DARE you have life things get in the way of my reaction to your reaction to shows I've already seen! I expect such things from the... Steelers fan... but YOU, Kevin? You're my Yoda, man... and you just failed to levitate my X-Wing out of Dagobah swamp... causing me to give into my doubt and letting the dark side win. Good job... you just destroyed a galaxy far, far away. Oh... hey... Game of Thrones is up. Cool.

Jeff

I asked a coworker who retired from AT&T a few years ago, and he said there's absolutely no reason why they can't turn the internet back on. Most likely the people you spoke with have been told by the higher-ups that it's not possible, so that's what they tell the customer. He also said that once he retired from AT&T he cancelled his service, because it's the most screwed up company he's ever seen. Not that this helps your situation, but just know you're not alone in your frustration.

Laura Room

Booo to AT&T. Kudos to your movers for pushing your date up week! I really appreciate your dedication. This is not life and death. Take care of yourself and get some rest.

TalynOne

There's only around three companies on my permanent black list. AT&T is one of them going back to the late 90s. I've caught them in open lies. They also loved blaming everyone but themselves for any problems, even when I could prove the problem was them.

Cosmic Slice

I was hoping to be distracted by the happy imaginary politics tonight considering the state of the world... I'll have to backtrack because I need Jed Bartlett.

Youtalkingtome

If I wasn't too tired to watch, I still wouldn't watch. I'm sure MTG dressed in a nice suit. DO YOU OWN A SUIT??

Youtalkingtome

They are not my favorite. "We can't turn it back on once it's shut off." "But you weren't supposed to turn it off." "Is there anything else I can help you with?" Grrrr.

Youtalkingtome

THANK YOU, Jeff! It was nuts. I talked to three different people in 3 hours, all of whom said "the next guy should be able to help you out," and guy #4 said no. I was ready to pull my hair out.

Cosmic Slice

I'm currently watching the worst reality show ever made. Oh wait...this is actually happening....

Joy Mullane

Customer service is dead.

dys

I don't want to ever lose my Fios. Spectrum keeps leaving me cards in the mail like "don't you want to switch to our objectively inferior cable?"

dys

If there is a not-evil option for phone service in the US I'd love to hear about it... I still have a 24% employer-network discount on my AT&T plan from a company I haven't worked for in 15 years. Need to find a way less evil provider to be worth switching off of that.

dys

You guys deliver way more than a lot of channels who do this as their full-time job, who somehow do this full-time while doing maybe three shows a week. And from this channel we get reactions from actual adults who have actual insight into what you're watching because you both are clearly well educated in film and television and literature. There are few channels like this.

Alex Lee

So not only was there no crossover, there was a gap where you didn't have internet at either place?? Sounds like the Cowboy Bob of internet providers...

Toc

That's it, I'm unsubscribing! :P (Obviously I'm kidding!). Life comes first, and I NEVER want a reactor to feel stressed or burned out....otherwise how can they relax and watch a movie? By all means, don't worry, take your time. There are SO many reactions I still have to catch up on. The Talented Mr. Ripley edit was excellent. I still have to hit Touch Of Evil, Cabaret.....I'm still chipping away at 30 Rock.......it's an embarrassment of riches, so by all means, take the time you need to get set up.

When I moved this summer it took several days and then a tech being in my apartment for SIX HOURS to get my internet on. What I don’t understand is, buying into the bulk internet package is required for this building so the person who lived here before us must have had it??? PS the Comcast is separate and that took four calls to tech support and the tech being in my apartment for three hours. I almost decided to move to the woods and be a hermit.

Last April, we moved 3 people and 2 senior kitties from CT to NC... it was HELL! On moving day, it took 10 hours to finish the last of the packing (our move got moved up as well) and to load the truck! We left that night, right when we were done, and drove all night, 15 hours!! I do NOT recommend that, I don't know how we did it! When we got to the new house, my sister had a bunch of her church family there to help unload the truck! We were done in 3 hours! We NEVER want to move again!!! Kevin, I feel your pain... but now, the hard part is done! The boxes will all get emptied, eventually! LOL! Take a deep breath... you made it!

Jamie Morgan

Kevin, I don't think you understand what turning the internet back on requires. They have to get up from their chair, fly to the Himalayas, ascend Everest, do the WiFi ritual (you don't even want to know how tricky that thing is), polka dance back down Everest (if they accidentally tango they have to start all over again), fly back home, take time off for jetlag, go back to the office and hit a button. Now I'm thinking about it, they...they probably could just hit a button...hmm...

Kristi Govertsen

Oof. That sounds ridiculously frustrating😕. I’m pretty sure we all understand that sometimes life gets in the way of even the best laid plans. Please prioritize your health by getting some sleep, and please do NOT kill yourself with editing. I’m going to go out on a limb and say that I doubt you’ll get to the end of your life, look back, and lament, “My one and only regret in this life is that our Patreons had to wait a day or two, during that one week in 2025, to watch along with us watching shows they’ve already watched.” Besides, your “shan’t” will provide enough delight to power my inner 90-year-old through at least another week or two. Congrats on the move!🎉

Jonathan

I worked for AT&T for 15 years. I’m not sure how they had set it up for you to have it in both places, so I think the person who said that was doable probably figured that somebody above him would figure out how to do it and then didn’t. I’ve worked with all the companies over the years and they all suck. When a relative died, I wanted to keep my cable and Internet with Comcast. It took three visits to an office and seven days of phone calls to get my service back. Hopefully everything is working now

Jonathan

I’m in the same boat as you, and there really isn’t a good option

Jonathan

In the early days when I worked there, things were simple, but a combination of homeland security, adding a bunch of regulations onto the US communication system and employees doing improper things, made everything a jumbled up mess of clearances and hierarchy.
