I'm (almost) with Kevin on the fact that up to season 6, it's quite good. Season 7 is where you have 1 or 2 plot points that are weaker, but still mostly great episodes. Season 8 is quite the garbage bin on fire wrapped in a train wreck, not even redeemed by the 1 or 2 "better" episodes. But I'll join you in the rewatch nonetheless... 'cause I'm a Brother of the "Watch"! ;-) Cheers! p.s. One thing that will keep up throughout though is the quality of CGI.

When Varys was walking back to the city and heard the bells in King's Landing last episode, he knew that something ominous happened in the Red Keep, and that it may be quite dangerous to go back. So yeah, he went on the boat with Tyrion... and he took the opportunity to "push" his agenda himself to see about Daenerys, with Tyrion.

I could not agree more. Also well phrased. I love the idea of something wrapped in a train wreck.

Seasons 5 and 6, should’ve won Lena Headey at least one Emmy award. She was nominated five times for supporting actress. All due respect to the great Maggie Smith, but two of her Emmy wins for Downton Abbey should’ve went to Christina Hendricks for Mad Men in 2012 and to Headey in 2016.

The thing about Cersei's monologue to Jaime in this one is that... she's not wrong. When she was accusing Tyrion of killing Joffrey, and of course their mother, she was wrong. But he did kill their father (and I cheered him on for doing so, he was the worst), and Jaime facilitated it unwittingly. Everything she said in that scene (while somewhat exaggerated and unnecessarily harsh) was true, as hard as it is to hear, and as wrong as she has been in the past.

I mostly agree with Kevin's take too, I would just say even in season 5 you start to see some cracks. Then season 6 is frequently totally brilliant but sometimes so dumb it really drags the whole thing down, and then season 7 has some episodes that are excellent on their own but I cannot call the season good as a whole. And then we have season 8...

Yeah I totally get it. I understand that she had some points, she is just so vindictive and cruel! Great villain IMO

I'm excited! Can we call ourselves The Brother's of the Watch from now on? I dig that it applies to this LOL. It doesn't have to be gender exclusive, Brothers and Sisters of the Watch!!

The witch that the young Cersei meets is played by Jodhi May, who played Queen Calanthe (Cirri's grandmother) in The Witcher.

Ciaran Hinds' acting on the pyre was magnificent.

It is mixed, but overall I've really enjoyed it. Looking forward to the new series with a Hemsworth taking over as Geralt.
