Yes, Kirk works everywhere. Originally they just kept giving him small parts that would normally be different day players. So his thing became that he works everywhere.

Paris is acting like she lives in NYC and not Hartford, Connecticut. Paris is also acting like she hasn't been to Stars Hollow many times by this point.

I do NOT think Richard understood what Lorelai was trying to say, specially when it comes to Rory and the fact that he does *not* gets to decide things over her life, Lorelai does - and even then, they have a much more democratic relationship than the whole "I'm telling you she can't have the car". During their argument at the debutant ball, Richard pulled Lorelai to the conversation to say that Emily never listens to anything anybody says but boy does he need to look at the mirror...

We see Emily being unreasonably critical so frequently that you often forget how unreasonably critical Richard is. And this is why Lorelai ran away from home.

Yeah, Paris was definitely over-the-top in this one, but I do love that it led to the moment of Rory being the unwilling face of small-town censorship.

He tried to join her water aerobics class, haha! I had a friend and her father retired and about a year later her mother retired. They never argued before that. They had some big blow up about how he loaded the dishwasher. Seriously hobbies, volunteer work, something!

Richard definitely needs to find out what he wants to do with his time and recognize that Emily needs some space. I love Paris' character so much; however, I forgot in these early episodes how absolutely ten kinds of intense she can be. And what's funny is that her intense is much more in your face whereas other characters - Luke, Sookie, even Lorelai - are just as intense but in ways that we find more palatable. There were so many moments you guys were talking about certain things where I'm like oooh just you wait! Excited to keep going.
