When I saw Jon Bernthal as Mikey in the first scene it just made me love this show more. I'm the same as you, Kevin, I'm rooting for Richie too. I'm bad with change too so I can relate but he's dealing with a lot all at once. Tina and Richie are my fave characters so that scene with them at the end has really stayed with me, the acting's phenomenal from both.

Not sure if you guys heard the song Beat City playing, it was used in Ferris Bueller's Day Off which was also set in Chicago. The next two episodes are chef's kiss, pardon the pun, lol.

I was just saying to someone to this show is one of the rare examples of a show they are making today that is just a group of complicated people living their every day lives, and that being enough for the show. It seems like every preview you see for new shows have to have some violent twist or incredible unique thing about the characters. When if you get good actors and a good script, you can have a really good show that’s relatable to a lot of people.

Well, that settles it. I’m gonna have to keep notes on all the cookbooks/etc. Marcus is working from because, even though we didn’t see the finished product, he has some really interesting things going on there. Like, a fermented cherry filling, are you kidding? Genius. On the one hand, I totally sympathize with Richie bemoaning the gentrification/corporatization of the neighborhood. I find myself saying similar things about my town all the time... not to drug dealers, but still. Similar things, lol. On the other hand, he’s definitely going through it. And agreed, I hope we get into why that is and I certainly hope he can pull it together before he unravels completely.

I've said it before, but if you want some more Ebon Moss-Bachrach you can find him in a guest spot on Andor (aka the GOAT Star Wars content). Don't worry, there'll be an obvious moment to give Jeremy Allen-White his flowers, you can save them for the supporting players for now.

Ceres....from where we get the word "cereal". :)
