The actress who plays Kendra, Bianca Lawson, is possibly an actual vampire. She was 18 when she filmed this in 1997. She was still playing a teenager on TV in 2012. Even now, she hasn't aged. It's kinda amazing. Extra fun fact! She is also the former step-sister of Beyonce! Their parents were married 2014-2024.

On the DVD commentary, writer Marti Noxon relates how she intended a massive lock and heavy door on the cage where Angel is trapped... only to reach filming day and find that the set dressers provided this pathetic "bicycle lock". :)

she has kind of graduated to playing people in their early to mid 20s now that she's in her mid-late 40s :D

I get a giggle any time they reference something important happening on a tuesday (like the skating rink being closed on tuesdays), since that was the day the show aired each week! at least in the US

It’s important to remember that Angel now, and Angel as a true vampire are literally different people. As Buffy said in “Lie to Me” when someone becomes a vampire they die, but a demon takes control of the body. So while the demon looks, acts, and remembers their human life, the demon is in control. In a sense if you imagine humans as a car, with the soul as a driver; then vampires are basically cars that have been hijacked and the human soul is forced into the backseat, helpless to do anything but watch as the demon uses their body. Angel was cursed to have his soul brought back, meaning his human self is back driving, and the demon was forced into the backseat, it’s not gone, but he is in control. Unfortunately he has to live with all the memories and guilt of what the demon used his body for. That means while Angel does and probably should feel guilty about Drusilla, it wasn’t him, but the demon that was controlling his body.

I can’t believe — but I love — that Oz finally got to meet “That Girl” he’s been noticing from afar, and not only is it a blip in the episode, but he says exactly one word. “Canapé?” It’s extremely on brand for how they’ve laid out his character.
