I did not know this was such a divisive episode. I'm a bit surprised reading the other comments. This is a memorable episode for me; Such a creepy villain and unsettling progression of the story. And that make-up effect at the end with the ripped open face was seriously impressive!

That was largely my takeaway, too: the makeup / prosthetic on Ritter was terrific! And really, I had such a fun time watching John RItter ham it up in a villain role.

this show is camp, and gets deeper and better every season, but its TV history and moves the story of her relationship with her mom forward.

What did you say, 'he's a villain or a monster'? For a show that deals in metaphors I guess they're one and the same. This one broke the worldbuilding a bit too much for me and threw up too many 'how does this work here?' questions that the episode never addressed (the police investigation, the morgue, not to mention Joyce...). But as others said, it wasn't as bad as I remembered.

I love Don Knotts... but it's Mr. Roper by a mile. The Order of Taraka guy was a demon or monster or at least a half breed of some kind. I mean... he was overpowering Angel. Definitely not human. The detective was in School Hard, the first episode with Spike... where he attacks the school and Snyder blames it on a gang under the influence of PCP.

It's Mr. Roper for me. I love Don Knotts but not in that show.

Do you mean where you can watch the reactions as well as the full episode? Unfortunately, if they did that there'd probably be an immediate copyright strike from fox. So i always play the episode alongside this video on a different screen, or i watch the shortened version on youtube :)

A very important character is introduced in this episode: buffy's overalls of sadness! (not to be confused with her overalls of painting in school hard) You may notice in the future that when the show wants to convey that buffy is especially sad or vulnerable, they have her wear these

Oh, Bianca Lawson has definitely played a teen bitca. Like in Saved the Last Dance. She's also very popularly known for "not aging" and playing teen roles for around 20 years lol. From Saved By The Bell: First Class to probabky past Pretty Little Liar lol...

I actually usually skip this episode. Not because I think it's bad. It think it's a very good episode. It just makes me weirdly uncomfortable to see John Ritter in this role because I have this random, forever childhood love for Three's Company that just doesn't like it 😄. I can deal with a lot of different types of horror, from psychological to gore, but there's just something about seeing a creepy, unsettlingly evil Jack Tripper that just doesn't sit right in my spirit 😄😭... Aww man. Don Knotts is always a kooky, funny time, but Mr. Roper was just so disrespectful, it was great lol...

I get that. Three's Company was one of the first adult sitcoms that I really enjoyed as a small child. I will always have so much love for John Ritter.

Did you catch all the clues about Ted being a robot? There should be one in every home. They call him the machine. I am not wired that way…….
