Rhaegar Targaryen is the name of Daenerys' older brother that "kidnapped" Lyanna Stark. You should re-watch the scene at 45:18 and listen. It's now information divulged in the show, so I'm not spoiling things.

That scroll in Arya's hands now is the one Cersei asked Sansa to send to her brother Robb in S1 E10 asking him to bend the knee to Joffrey because Ned was a traitor. Some writing could be seen on screen to confirm that... again, not a spoiler!

I'm right there with you in loving this season. The story moves right along and so many things are coming together in interesting ways. All the main characters are so well-developed, and the actors are very comfortable in their roles, so all the interactions feel very believable. In addition, the showrunners were now spending many millions on each episode, resulting in top-notch filmmaking (and happy actors; Kit Harrington alone was earning $1.1 million per episode). I'm looking forward to your reactions of the next two episodes!

I was on vacation last week so I couldn't comment in regards to the last episode, but I'll link it to this one. First of all, I think I have to fore say that I'm a big fan of the show, and even of Season 7, so I'm with you up to now. I loved the battle from last episode, and the multiple storylines meeting up because of the threat north of the wall is completely making sense. Now in regards to why some people start to drop the show from this point on, this season is clearly the first complete season where Benioff and Weiss (the showrunners) are without the safety net of GRR Marin's writing, and it starts to show. Yes, the action and the plot is compelling and entertaining to watch, but they let their enthusiasm push the scenes too quickly together. You have Varys' time warp in S6 E10 (being in Dorne to recruit the Sands and Lady Olena, back to Meereen to then be on the ship going to Dragonstone), and Jorah leaving Oldtown to miraculously finding a ship that goes willingly to Dragonstone (the base of a "foreign" invader, even though she was born in Westeros so wrongly explained by Randall Tarly). But also, from last week, for being a competent translator, Missandei doesn't know what a bastard is? She met the Sands (bastards from Dorne), and marriage is a concept that exists in Essos, no? Anyways... Now the most unbelievable thing that happened last week: When Jamie is pushed from his horse by Bronn into the river, they both fall into an abyss merely meters from the shore where he was riding is horse. Okay... if that what's really happening, he'll be falling faster that a rock with the weight of his plate armor. Yet, Bronn pulls him back from about 30 feet deep, and on the other side of that river so they're not caught by the Dothraki army on that shore. I feel like they're starting to cut corners, and I'll have some gems pretty much for all episodes to come. Joe, if you rather not have me ding the story anymore, just let me know. But I feel compelled to point out what bugs me every time I rewatch. But it must be good enough for me to re-watch all of it another time, right?

his name is Rhaegar (Ray-Gar) Targayrian and he's daenerys' older brother. Mad King Aerys Targayrian had three kids, Rhaegar, Viserys and Daenerys.

...and there's the other bit of trolling by the writers, "thought you might still be rowing"! We haven't seen him since he rowed away from Stannis and Melisandre in Season 3. I wish Ser Jorah had told Jon who cured him. He knows that Sam served with his father as Jon did. It was still a pretty great meeting, nonetheless. How do you like the Magnificent Seven going north of the wall? :D The season sure is moving quickly!

Yeah, even though I still love these episodes, you can see the wheels juuuuuust starting to come off the wagon. I have some issues with other things that happened in this episode, but I can't really talk about them without spoiling the next, so I'll just do that next week.

Personally I'd maybe recommend steering clear of rewatching the scene....it's designed to be missed, no?
