"For the guy." I teared up at that and also Syd's added "let it rip." I made the omelette after watching this and even though it looked terrible (I am no chef, lol) it was delicious flavour wise. It has Boursin cheese in the middle, Joe. Also, if that AC/DC song doesn't get you pumped up for the opening I don't know what does!

What an exciting episode -- absolutely on the edge of my seat for next week! The ‘unforced error’ conversation – I understand what Unc was trying to say, I really do. I know he's trying to help, but I also think he’s wrong... I did a lot of music performance growing up. It was very serious, with conditions and pressures you might be surprised by. But the best advice we ever got was to relax – let your mind quiet, breathe, and let yourself do what you know how to do. The more you focus on not f-ing up, the more you’re guaranteed to do so. The answer in never in extremes – you can’t live there, that's not a life. It's in balance. Anyway... The omelette looked perfect and Richie’s speech was the most wonderfully obscure-yet-on-point thing he’s said yet :)

The on-screen chemistry between Jeremy and Ayo is just so incredible. That under the table scene raised my temperature a few degrees, I can tell ya. Their intimate, fiery confessional scenes are my favorite part about the entire show.

I think this episode does what a pentultimate episode should - showing us how far our characters (& restaurant) have come since the beginning of the season (& the show) and getting us excited for the finale. I feel like some of the conversations we see here should have taken place sooner. I don't feel like the day of your soft open is the time to be deciding about tipping or to finally be pointing out Carmy's lack of focus. You're close on Bob Odenkirk's character. His name is Lee Lane and he is the L in KBL, which I think means some of the money in the tomato cans came from him. I'm looking forward to your reaction to the next episode. It's one of my favorites.

I agree. No monomaniac was ever happy about that level of obsession, even with great accomplishment. It was cruel advice. And Ritchie's speech (with a reference so obscure I can't even remember any of the components of it after watching the episode a second time last night) was fantastic.

Their relationship has been really limited on-screen this season, but it is so kinetic when we get to see it.

I completely agree on the tipping conversation. I feel like that would have been something they would have had to have worked out before a single server would have agreed to work there.

My favorite line in this was when Sugar and Carm are talking about their mom coming. Nat: "I don't want you to freak out if she shows up." Carm: "I don't want you to freak if she doesn't."
