Hey! I got a reaction video today. I managed to figure out how to pay for it, but I’m not sure how to let you know what I’d like you to watch. Sorry, I don’t know how to DM you either!

you should rewatch season 1, knowing now that Ned quit being hand of the king because robert said he will kill every last targaryen, how he wanted dany dead and how that upset Ned so much, how much Ned fucking lied to everyone even his wife all those years, lied to his best friend all those years, because he made a promise and he was protecting the true heir to the throne; it also explains perfectly why Ned was ok with Jon taking the black, because that meant he could be safe from Roberts wrath if the truth ever came out, since nights watch were renouncing any claims and titles Ned Stark is such a fucking legend man, pure honor and devotion, he wasn't a hypocrite after all and it's crazy that Jon technically has a better claim than Dany, as his dad was Dany's and Viserys' older brother Rhaegar so much in the books is so interesting about Rhaegar, there's stories that suggest he had some kind of three eyed raven dreams where he saw the future, but it is never told clearly, in fact much about the Targs in the books is surrounded by weird magics and tragedies and prophecies, all those little legends make the books so much fun to explore, even though at this point I think they'll never be finished the coolest and probably most interesting Targaryen from the books is a guy called Bloodraven, but I can't even get started on all the insane things suggested or implied about him (he's even in the show but they couldn't go into that so he's never named more than the "Three Eyed Raven"), and we'll probably (almost certainly at this point) never know his full history or story besides stuff from some standalone books like The Hedge Knight set in his time the books are so much fun to explore because there's so much theorycrafting and things left vague, like what the hell happened to old valyria? or what the hell are these people that they manage to ride and order dragons around?

(Big rant incoming, sorry !) This was actually my first time rewatching this season - usually I stop after season 6. There were a lot more good moments in this than I remembered, but I'm still bothered by the same things as before. I get the impression that they had an idea of the large picture in their heads, and just decided to ignore all the "small" things that got in the way of their vision. That's how we get quasi-teleportation, characters doing 180s compared to their previous arcs, other characters being unceremoniously written off... But I think my biggest problem has to do with Cersei. At the end of season 6, she essentially flipped the table when she blew up the Sept of Baelor. For two seasons, the show had made a point of showing us how the Sparrows were nigh untouchable for the simple reason that they had the support of the people. But then Cersei kills them all, blows part of the city up, kills dozens of members of noble houses, and there are ZERO consequences ?! It just doesn't make any sense. I think they decided that Cersei was gonna be the final villain (even though she had previously been shown to not be all that competent or clever) and then wrote everything else around that to make it happen, even though it just doesn't work. And the frustrating thing is that they didn't suddenly forget how to make good television ; they still know how to write good dialogue, they still know how to make epic action sequences... So we get great scenes interspersed with nonsense, and the whole thing feels like a massive waste of potential.

I still remember what it was like reacting to this live with my roommates. We were SO excited that all these characters were coming together for a huge summit, and the final Littlefinger scene was so satisfying (there are some pretty amazing full bar reactions to that scene on YouTube). I also remember feeling like the only person on the planet (including my roommates) who felt in any way bothered that Daenerys is Jon's aunt. People who would always condemn Jaime and Cersei for their incest just swooned for this particular incestuous pairing, and I did not get it.

I don't wanna justify incest at all, however they both don't know and in a way that makes it more tragic. I can't wait to see how Jon handles it when he finds out. Also Littlefinger, good riddance! Could not have been more satisfying.

Joe this has been such a great watch. I think enough time had finally passed that I could move beyond my issues with the last season and really enjoy the whole series again, it's been amazing through this point and I'll be here for the rest even if it's not my favorite. What a finale episode, I just LOVED the pacing. Even though the season as a whole has issues with time skips/instant travel/whatever, the pacing of a single episode is still spot on. They milked the HELL out of the dragon pit negotiation. None of the dialogue was rushed, we didn't get rapid fire cuts; if this had aired on regular cable, it would've been edited down to 47 minutes and ruined. Instead they gave us an 80-minute feature without a minute wasted. You and I had the same reaction to Theon speaking with Jon. Jon opened that conversation with some brutal honesty, which made what he said at the end carry even more weight. And I think it's all Theon needed to hear his whole life. The thing that's bothered me for the last three episodes was the Sansa and Arya misdirect. I just don't think it was necessary or particularly well executed. I think the idea of Sansa actually being a step ahead of Littlefinger was good, but there were scenes between Sansa and Arya in closed rooms that were just so threatening and were serving more to misdirect the audience than Littlefinger. I don't mind a dramatic reveal now and then, this just didn't work for me. Loved your reaction at the end though, "Just shut up and die", well said LOL.

We're in this together brother! Can't wait to hop into the most controversial season! I'm nervous and excited at the same time
