Awesome opening scene, right!?!

Oh dear. I’m so split on The Newsroom. I’m looking forward to seeing this play out, both the guys‘ opinion, and here on Patreon. Still yearning for a reaction to S60! Not that that show is free from Sorkin tropes, either. But somehow, I find it more palatable than Newsroom. ⏱️👏💻🥭🐬🎶💊👢🐾

I agree that S1 is the best. S2 and S3 are still enjoyable enough though. If anything else it can still be interesting to see the reasons a show drops off.

Just FYI, I’m sure somebody in the comments or you guys on your own have looked this up by now, but Halliburton was indeed involved in the Deepwater Horizon disaster. Not to go into it too much, but they ended up settling a law suit for 1.1 billion dollars. Believe me, I know it’s hard to keep track of all the upsetting and bizarre stuff that pops up in the world these days. I had to look that one up, and it seems as though anyone having to pay 1.1 billion dollars for any reason should some how not have fallen off my radar, but I guess Billion buck crimes are a dime a dozen these days.

Please PLEASE do at the very least season 2. The characters have such a great arc and it is enjoyable. Season 3 is the typical Sorkin leaving the show trope that while watchable really only just ties up the loose ends from season 2 without any other plots moving forward. So I would love to see you watch season 2 if only to get plenty of growth for our characters.

The newsroom is one of my favorite shows, I had my frustrations with season 2 but the humour and characters were always top-notch.

OK, so somehow this show is new for me, never watched it, and I am very much looking forward to watching it with you guys! It does feel sorkiny... and fun! p.s. Max is still doing this US/Europe timing difference thing with me, so I am like maybe 5 seconds ahead of you every couple of minutes. BUT I'm getting good at pausing with all the west wing practice! Or maybe I should just watch your uncuts.... but I enjoy watching the show on the big screen. With subtitles. Especially a new show with sorkin-pace dialogues.

Allison Pill who plays Maggie also portrayed Zelda Fitzgerald in Midnight in Paris (a film you should watch if you haven’t yet).

Didn't know if you guys recognized Jim, but he's the kid who drives Josh, Toby, and Donna to the train in Indiana.

Hey there! I'm a new patron to these guys, do they have a Discord with a spoiler-safe section? Because obviously I can't do it here, but I would love to challenge you on your characterization of Season 3. ;) A LOT of huge plots move forward - more than I've ever seen any show do in six episodes.
