That's one of the episodes I was most awaiting, for that one scene with the congresswoman, among others. Can't wait to watch your reaction to this whole bit!! 😂

100% agree on JLD. She's one of the all-time best and Veep is probably the best showcase for it. This is what happens when brilliant writing with a LOT to do is attached to an amazing actress. It's generally hard to imagine another person for a role "after the fact", but in this case there is literally no one I could have imagined, who would have shined better than JLD. Just in awe of her insanely hard work (because it is, it's not as easy as she makes it seem) and raw comedic vibes. This is some Bryan Cranston in Breaking Bad-level of casting timing. The congresswoman scene is also one of the best in the entire show. It's so brutal, but it also shows how effective Selina can actually be. A lot of people compare Selina to a certain current political figure, but she actually has political chops and knowledge, though it's sometimes undermined in the show. And she can really cause verbal mayhem 😂

I cannot describe the excited noise I made during the cold open when I heard that "oakie dokie annie oakley"! I've been waiting for this one!!!

Oh my god, first off: outrageously great intro in this one! It's so great: another channel I'm subscribed to always posts their Seinfeld reactions about two or three hours before you guys post your Veeps! So I've been doing these Julia double-features all along....it's delicious! This episode: holy smokes! You can definitely see that some of these writers went on to Succession!! You guys pretty much said it all during this video. PS: You guys hit it on the head about their process: the writers would have countless alternate lines and insults, so sometimes they're just off camera feeding them new lines and then they go back and edit in the ones that worked the best. I can't remember the bloopers too much other than that Julia and Tony Hale break constantly with each other. Like....neither of them can work with each other without laughing! (I know that JLD would famously break up the most in Seinfeld bloopers, and I think Tony Hale might have been the same way on Arrested!)

I couldn't agree more. I actually just saw a little clip of Hugh Laurie and he was saying she's the best he's ever worked with.
