Enter, Faith. The party girl slayer. As someone who has seen this episode many times, it's always funny when they establish that Faith is from Boston, but Eliza Dushku's natural Canadian accent keeps coming through. The eye daggers Cordelia was shooting at Xander when he couldn't drop the subject of naked Faith. Yeesh. I know he's supposed to be a teenage horndog but good god, man. Have some self awareness.

I adore Eliza Dushku! She’s actually not acting anymore. She was harassed by the lead actor (Michael Weatherly) on the last show she did and when she took it to producers, they fired her. She’s actually a licensed therapist these days! And I actually have the promise ring that my dad gave to my mom! They met in college, so not quite as young as high school, and he gave it to her after a year of dating. They were married for 35 years when my dad passed.

Xander is already dating WAY above his head with Cordelia. He should be grateful she gives him the time of day at all.

Xander has his ups and downs, but I think most of the fandom recognizes his flaws. I’m probably the closest you’ll get to a Xander apologist, and that’s just because I can understand his headspace in moments when other people just don’t get him. At best, you can say he’s deeply immature, but I think he’s also got some flaws that are not easy to excuse, even if I do understand them. I think that you’ll find most of the fandom recognizes that Xander has recurring bad friend moments, and a lot of people are expecting you to call him out. Just say it like you see it, and people will appreciate you. Also, Cordelia is way out of his league, and I do not understand why she puts up with him.

Her performance in Dollhouse was met with mixed reviews, but I loved her in that! I thought she was awesome, and quite versatile. That show was great for showcasing various actors who should have gotten more recognition.

As a Massachusetts native living in NYC, driving in Manhattan is scary but actually less so than in Boston... but I don't drive anymore because you don't need to here anyway, the subway is faster for any trip I would normally take. I do rent a car to go out of the city for ski trips and such often enough that I've gotten fairly good at driving here but I would never want to do it as a daily commute. When my brother and his family stopped here on the way back home from where they were living in North Carolina at the time, when we were all heading home to MA for the holidays during COVID in 2021, he had me do the driving in their car while we were in the city because just getting to my apartment in Brooklyn in the first place was pretty nerve-wracking for him. Though that did have them drive through the heart of Chinatown where his wife, who is Chinese-Malaysian, was amazed to see way more Chinese people and signage than she had seen since coming to the US and living in rural NC. I had totally forgotten about that freedom to leave highschool for lunch as a senior, going in a friend's car to get good pizza. I usually use flights to catch up on movies I should have seen but was never in quite the right mood for... so judging you just a little bit Joe for watching Olympus Has Fallen three times on a flight, they have more options than that (jk) rot13: V qvq abg rira erzrzore Fpbgg Ubcr'f rkvfgrapr.
