I've been to that Brooklyn IKEA several times, I know they all look identical inside but I would bet that was actually filmed in there.

Yes Ikea is definitely a tough place to be. It is deliberately designed to make you walk through the whole store, which means if you and your partner aren't in sync it can take literally hours to get anything done and you end up hating each other. Since this episode I have actually used going on a couple's trip to Ikea as my barometer as to whether or not we are ready to move in with each other or need to break up. It is the ultimate stress test.

It was my sense for sure that they definitely filmed at a real Ikea (which means Ikea was in on the joke, which I really like). Since the show shoots in NYC almost exclusively, I bet you're right about them using a store somewhere in the city. I don't know if there are more than that one in Brooklyn, but it would definitely make sense.
