A. A. Milne was a writer of different genres and a pacifist who got drafted into WWI. He suffered from “shell shock” and had PTSD episodes that frightened everyone, including his little son. He created a refuge in The Hundred Acre Wood where the characters his son had created had gentle adventures and learned little life lessons in a safe and protected place. I hope it was a healing process for him to write them.

In the 90s, disney made sing along vhs tapes with songs from a lot of different movies on them, with subtitles so you could sing along. When i was maybe 4? Or 5? Google shows it was released in 92, so i was at least 4. I thought i had gotten beauty and the beast bc of the cover and was disappointed but watched anyway. It had zip-a-dee doo-dah from song of the south (yikes), heffalumps and woozles from this movie, spoonful of sugar from mary poppins, and then be our guest. And let me tell you, the way i HATED heffalumps and woozles was actually weird, bc it didn't scare me, i just hated it so much 😂 as an adult, i think it's a cute song but have no strong feelings about it
