I love The Actor's Nightmare! That lead is very dialogue heavy, so it's probably a good thing you didn't do both.

Ben Gilbert

Tommy Rall, who played Ann Miller's boyfriend, also was Frank in Seven Brides for Seven Brothers.

I love. "It's very Fosse-esque" That was Fosse choreographing is 1st dance section in a movie. If you have ever seen The Shawshank Redemption, that's Brooks the librarian telling you to Brush Up Your Shakespeare.

I directed this in 94 at my high school. To answer some of your questions, the opening scene was written just for the film and does not exist in the stage play. Other than that it is a very faithful adaption of the show. Yes, there are a lot of sets. We did alot of roll ons. Some of the lyrics were cleaned up for the film. Porter had a lot of double entehdres. The tap daNce was mainly added to the film. The dance in the stage show is more balletic. Tt's a very difficult show to do, but I had an incredible bunch of kids that year. This was a great trip down memory lane for me. Thank you for loving these older films.

there is a proshot of this if you care to see what it looks like on stage. that beginning part is not part of the stage show. those two songs happen later and too darn hot is actually an ensemble number. but obvi they gotta have ann miller do it cause she's insanely talented. the stage show starts in the theater.

Did you notice all the throwing stuff at the camera? This was made as part of the early wave of 3D movies! Also someone else has mentioned, but Lois' gambling lover was also in Seven Brides as Frank(incense)! Glad you enjoyed this, some of my fave musical songs in this one. Brush Up Your Shakespeare is especially inspired IMO.

Really fun watching this again. Ann Miller was considered one of the greatest, if not THE greatest female tap dancer in films. She tended to play the "brassier" type roles, as she does here. She's always fun to watch.

Great reaction as always guys! Howard Keel and Kathryn Grayson were in a few other films together, my favorite is Showboat. You should also check out Ann Miller (Lois/Bianca) in Easter Parade with Judy Garland and Fred Astaire, and On The Town with Gene Kelly and Frank Sinatra.

As for the "door prizes for the front row," this film was, rather awkwardly in my opinion, filmed in 3D. Yoi! What a mistake.
