My sister is a ride-or-die Mark and Gemma shipper, so she was not a fan of the intimate Helly Mark scene lol. Also, not sure if you didn't notice it cause you didn't mention it, but Burt's house has weird as fuck vibes. That weird as hell painting hanging on the wall? I'd nope right out of there if I was Irving. I heard that the third season was supposed to be the final season, but then Apple acquired the entire entire show and they want to make another season after three. Who knows, though? That's just what I heard.

This show goes beyond love triangles into love hexagons. Perhaps even love dodecahedrons!🤣

Crawnch!

You predicted a theory I have about next season which is that Helly/Helena is going to be pregnant and the conflict that will arise from that. Also, you’re going to love next week’s episode.

It's all just so confusing! I think Helena does have a crush on Mark now. In the diner, she was trying to push her psycho girlfriend agenda with no awareness that she is talking to a complete stranger who has no idea who she is. "You should meet my dad?!" Yeah, bc I slept with you while you were unconscious and now we can be boyfriend/girlfriend. She's as socially inept and wackadoodle as Ms Cobel.

This is a first time viewing for me but people know I love John Noble so I was spoiled about his appearance here months ago however I had no clue what his role was until now. John is an extremely talented actor & I really hope we'll see Fields again.

I have to say both dinner scenes are my favorite parts of this episode. They’re just so so good and so well acted. Albeit a bit uncomfortable, like you both said during Mark & Helena’s conversation 😅 And another little theory going around…the name of the restaurant (Zufu) actually translates to grandfather in Chinese. The ‘fu’ of the sign meaning ‘father’ is the only part illuminated. This could mean nothing, but personally I feel that Dan (Erickson) and the writers are more intentional than that and it’s foreshadowing to the baby theory.

Britt Lower IS a great actress, and she was incredible in one of my favorite "under the radar" shows - Man Seeking Woman. Worth a watch!

If Marc really loves his wife and believes she is still alive he should tell innie Hellie NO.... I've lost respect for him...

We still don't know what outie Irving knows and who he works with, so he could be playing dumb for everyone's benefit at the dinner. But with you that Bert feels off and Fields feels (drunk but) sincere. I really like Helena's very confusing scene with Mark, which must have something to do with feelings she can't figure out. But I love Helly being somehow more mature, after her initial shock, to come back and say, "Okay, not our fault, let's fix it together." They're so cute coming back afterwards. Would note that Mark's "doctor" (whoever she really is) keeps warning he might be messing the procedure up by how he acts, and can't be sure what effect that's having on both of them.

I wonder what Bert did in his past that made him feel damned and need to clean his moral slate as an innie

No spoilers of course but next week episode is my favorite of the whole show. Can't wait to see your reactions to that one !

I’m intrigued by Burt’s religious argument in favour of Severance but I don’t think it holds up. I’m not religious but I thought the idea was if you accept God and truly repent then you get to go to heaven even if you did terrible things. Is it a loophole to avoid actual repentance? How does the souls thing work? Everyone is born with a soul but then at the point of the Severance procedure the souls gets split and each part is weighed on the actions of the innie or the outie? Is the soul split proportional based on the time spent in control of the body? Or does God see that they’re severing someone, grab a new soul and send it down to Earth?

This episode ('Attila') was the episode that was submitted for Britt Lower's successful Emmy nomination.

I'm thinking that "Hon" -> "Atilla The Hon (Hun)" is more than just a fun play on words, Fields is slamming that Outie Burt is maniacally globally destructive, i.e. like Attila The Hun himself. And (shaky AF theory) what could be more maniacally globally destructive than being the engineer that built the first chip in collaboration with Eagan Senior?

Next week is a brilliant episode, directed by the cinematographer of the show - Jessica Lee Gagné - and nominated for an Emmy.

Mid 2027 is the expected release date of season 3, as they're filming from april to december

I love that Britt got her Emmy for this episode. She's had to play both sides of the coin all season and is really nailing it. Helena *almost* made a connection with Mark, and then she stepped right onto the land mine and asked about Gemma. She thinks she can just dive right into the subject as long as she says the right things and seems to care, but has no idea what Mark actually knows. Brilliant writing, and brilliant cinematography in that scene. The sign has already been mentioned, but the previous shot down the bar with the overhead lights and the slight zoom out gave me the absolute chills.
