Cant wait for you to get on to series 2 and onwards. Series 1 is seen as by us uk folks as by far the poorest. It was almost canceled after this first series.

Roland

The witch hunts of the Middle Ages were most prominent in countries like Germany, but occurred pretty much everywhere over time, eventually even touching Salem, Massachusetts of course. This episode is directly inspired by the real-life Witchfinder-General, and the Vincent Price movie of the same name: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Witchfinder_General_(film)

Having owned multiple rescue black cats over the years - all since passed away- I feel guilty laughing in horror at the mini pile of "burnt familiar"

Roland

Director: "Frank, we want you to turn it up to eleven". Frank Finlay: "Eleven is for wimps, hold my beer".

Joe and Kevin- I don't want to spoil the show...when you see Season 2 Episode 1 and when it is set you will realize what the "conceit" of this series is, Sort of like Mad Men where they jumped a few months to over a year between the 6+7A+7B seasons you will quickly figure out what they are doing...
