You guys keep watching movies I haven't watched in forever and I love it. I do love a story where the damsel rescues herself. One bit of trivia I remember about this was that Drew Barrymore personally approached Angelica Houston to persuade her to take this role. She pointed out that they were both Hollywood royalty and said, "Come on! Houston and Barrymore working together again! It's meant to be!"

That's my alltime favourite movie! Strangely enough I like watching this best at Christmas time, perhaps because it's a fairytale. I watched it the first time in English today with you. In the German-dubbd version Henri is pronounced like the French name, so hearing Herny after all these years was strange. That's one of the few movies where the dubbed version is really good. Because you talked about the British accent: I don't think an American accent existed at the time. What I like the most about this movie (apart from the sets) is the soundtrack. In German we say having an earworm, when a song is stuck inside your head, and this soundtrack has given me an earworm countless times in my life. Thanks for watching it!
