Enters, the GREAT Andy Serkis. And yes, they were a bit careful about casting him because of Snoke and all the conspiracy theories that it's the same character. To be clear, it's NOT.

Yannick, from Montréal

Colonel Yularen (the older ISB man with the white mustache that's hierarchically above Major Partagaz) is the same character we see on the Death Star with Grand Moff Tarkin in Episode IV around the conference table when they confirm the Senate has been disbanded.

The perfect example of WHY I'm a Super Patron for you guys... When you heard the line from Cinta "Maybe I'm a rich girl running away from my family...", you didn't need more than that to understand Vel is that exactly, just by watching her reaction to the line. It shows the exactitude of the script and level of acting, but moreover your level of attention to details, Kevin and Joe! Hats off...

ScarlettMi

Just wanted to make sure someone had given you guys a heads up that there’s a scene after the credits in the season finale.

Yannick, from Montréal

Was going to say it on the comments of episode 11, to make sure they think of it for episode 12. It's the only one that has a post-credit scene.

Darcy Smith

The prequels did try so desperately to be political intrigues. But Andor seems to manage political writing so easily. The conversation with the drinks at the party is a good example. Lowering limitations on what law enforcement can do? If you're not doing anything wrong, what is there to fear? What could possibly go wrong?

Paul T Hewes

he was also very big in The Clone Wars series.

dys

In Rogue One I didn't get Saw Guerrera at all, I kinda thought Forrest Whitaker was making some strange acting choices that didn't fully work to try to add some depth to a pretty underwritten character. I like what the writers and actor do with him here a lot more.

JustALilTired

OMG if you can track down the Ewok movies please watch them here, for sure do the holiday special as well…it is truly abysmal lol

Paul T Hewes

this is a spy/resistance show dressed in Star Wars...

Neill Shaughness

What I love about Marva's joining the rebellion is that no one recruited her. She just decided she was a rebel. It was as simple as that.

Neill Shaughness

Cyril as a bounty hunter would be awesome! I'd watch that before I watch the Mandalorean movie

ScarlettMi

Wanted to give an earlier heads up as well, just in case they record ahead a bit.

The series received 22 Emmy nominations. Nominated in outstanding drama series for both seasons. The series won 5 Emmys, including outstanding writing for Dan Gilroy for season two episode 9.

Daren

Giving you advanced warning. When you watch Season 1 Episode 12, you need to watch the end credits.

Roland

This three-episode arc is written by Beau Willimon, who was the showrunner for the brilliant House Of Cards (based on the brilliant British miniseries of the same name).

Roland

Agreed. He's a psycho fanatic...and possibly correct that he's the only one thinking clearly (but not strategically, which is why he'll never succeed).

Roland

Joe mentioned the French Resistance, Tony Gilroy specifically called out his love for the French show Un Village Française, and ended up hiring a bunch of the cast from the show for Andor Season 2. > A French Village (Un village français) is a French historical drama series that aired from 2009 to 2017, chronicling the lives of residents in the fictional town of Villeneuve during the German occupation of France in World War II. The show explores complex themes like collaboration, the Resistance, war profiteering, and the moral dilemmas faced by ordinary citizens as they navigate the occupation from 1940 to 1945. It is known for its realistic portrayal of the period, following characters through rationing, betrayal, and the fight for survival. <

Carl Wilson

I was impressed by that too - I hadn't thought of it before K&J said it.

Carl Wilson

Yes. There was a lot of money spent here, so the TV industry was well aware, and the critical acclaim was pretty widespread pretty fast, as I recall it. Buffy was at a different time - it was before genre became the biggest thing in "IP." But also, I can't help pointing out, it was about a girl.

ScarlettMi

Even with all that, I still feel like it should have had more nominations. I think there were some performances here that were particularly amazing. At least it won that writing award though

Tina

I've been waiting for Narkina 5. It is such a great couple of eps, for so many reasons. I wish it was compulsory viewing in schools - the politics, the authoritarianism, the rebellion and how it plays out, the policing, the prison system, the social dynamics in the prison... There is not a wasted line or shot in this.

Suzanne Whyte

They definitely should have had more acting nominations if not wins. It’s probably a discussion best saved for once the guys have finished the show but I do think they were snubbed in the acting categories.

Suzanne Whyte

So Cyril doesn’t seem to think he has done anything wrong. In his mind Andor is a murderer, he tried to apprehend a murderer and he was punished for trying to do his job and uphold justice. His inability to see nuance is quite interesting. Even if he can’t accept that he shouldn’t have gone after Andor he should at least be able to see that his operation on Ferix was a disaster and he made mistakes in the planning and execution of it.

Heather Armantrout

Within the larger story, they casually throw in an arc showing the injustice of industrial incarceration. Nothing to see here.

trenton gragg

The second season acting performances should’ve garnered 4 to 6 nominations. Andor did not have the name recognition or reputation of White Lotus or Severance in the supporting categories that year.

trenton gragg

The second season was just overshadowed by White Lotus and Severance in the supporting categories.

GDF

I think the Prequel's were helped a lot by The Clone Wars show which was lots of people's favourite including me before Andor (the 3D one, not the 2D one that came before). It fleshed out so many more characters that I can only remember that era fondly tbh. It started off as a kids show and then became more adult and the final 4 episodes of the last Season happen at the same time as Revenge of the Sith and there were 4 hour supercuts of them together as one big movie. (Saw Gerrera in Rogue One and now Andor has his first appearance as a young man in that show)

GDF

As well as Saw Gerrera you also have Melchi from Rogue One too with Cassian working at the same table.

Michael Bennett

I must've seen the second Ewok movie when I was 4. I've had this memory of an eerie scene that takes place at night from that movie, but I don't remember anything else from it. Watching the trailer just now, I recognized the evil witch and no one else. One of the things I like about this episode is really subtle, but it's that they don't explain things to the prisoners directly. They're doing "show don't tell" with the audience by doing it to the characters as well. There's a bit of exposition, but they demonstrate the hot floor, they don't explain what they're building or how, you don't know what they're signing to each other in the hallways, it's all just happening while you try to keep up.

Paul T Hewes

He is an excellent investigator with decent instincts, but he is a piss poor field op and horrible leader of tactical units. He screwed up Ferrix and easily should have died at Cassian or Luthen’s hands. I don’t think he would be a good bounty hunter, but he would have made a good behind the scenes investigator

Youtalkingtome

I've heard amazing things about TCW. There's so much of that show now that it's kinda daunting

Roland

"Based on" isn't quite right. "Inspired by" is more accurate, with Willimon using key components of the original.
