Haha, I had the pro-shot of the musical lined up ready to press pay when I watched you guys' intro and realized this is the original movie that the musical is based on! Found a copy of that instead and watched along with you. What a great film!

I hate to bring this up and be a debby downer, but I do think she's worthy mentioning. Mostly because no one talks about her and that's unfortunate. The director and screenwriter of the film Adrienne Shelly, she also played Dawn in the movie was murdered shortly after this was released. A construction worker that was working in her apartment building snuck in and killed her. He actually made it look like she took her own life and that's what they concluded it to for a while but her husband was so adamant that she wouldn't have ever done that to herself, especially leave her child that it forced the department to continue the investigation and they did indeed found evidence that it was a homicide, he was found and confessed soon after. There still is no real explanation as to why he killed her. It was so incredibly tragic, I've heard nothing but great things about her and a mother was taken from her daughter and husband. It's also very tragic that she never would see the success her film would become. She actually wrote it while pregnant. There was a film she was in that I grew up with and watched a lot as kid, it was called Big Girls Don't Cry (They Get Even), I loved her in that. It's one that no one talks about now, which is a shame.
