This episode did win an Emmy for costume design. Kyle Soller, who portrays Syria Karn, has been television series and film. Notably Slow Horses and Death by Lightning, but he is primarily a theatre actor.

Suzanne Whyte

This is one of the less popular arcs due to how annoying the rebel groups were but once Cassian ditched them the conclusion of the arc was so good. I was sad to lose Brasso and the attack on Bix was difficult to watch but all of the storylines were interesting and worked well together. It was such a well done episode. Also, I love the Chandrillan clothing so much and I half hoped aspects of it might filter through to regular fashion.

Paul T Hewes

Like every 3rd episode of season 2, this was a masterful piece of work. -I always tear up a little at Brasso. He was the one who watched over Marva, and Cassian and Bix. He was the one who relayed Cassian's mom's final words to Cassian. He was his BROTHER. -Mon's daughter drove her to get drunk. "I wish you WERE drunk." What a horribly cruel thing to say to your mother in that situation. -Luthen telling Mon "How nice for you." His willing to get his hands dirty to protect her, and her not even appreciating it... -The tune played by DJ Disco Bot was first heard on the ocean planet where Cassian was arrested in Season 1. Named after the planet "Niamos"

Michael Bennett

It's really brief, but there's an interesting connection with the music playing at the wedding, and the music that played when Cassian first arrived on the beach planet just before he got sent to prison. I had to relisten to be sure, but I remembered feeling the tension instantly ratchet up. Syril putting his face into the bed has been featured in a lot of post-release interviews with the cast. :D It's as if he wants so badly to just disappear that as soon as his face touches the bed, the rest of his muscles just freeze in place like he's a droid that's been switched off. The attempted rape scene was MUCH more brutal than anything I expected to see in Star Wars. I mean we've seen people get blasted, spaced, arms cut off by lightsabers, but not so much just up close and personal punching and struggling and being dragged etc. The way it was shot made it so visceral. I also don't think it's a coincidence that the guy really reminded me of Frederick Zoller from Inglourious Basterds.

micah

syril laying down on his bed is just hilarious LOL how relatable

Roland

Tiny detail I spotted this third time around: during the farm meal there's a little kid playing with a Scout Walker puppet. 🥰

Roland

The other actors didn't know that Kyle Soller had done that until they saw the finished article, a brilliant acting choice. 🤩

Roland

The actor that plays the creepo Imperial officer absolutely nails the role. 🤩

Roland

Ben Miles plays Tay Kolma. He's one of the leads in the amazing British sitcom/romcom Coupling, which is a wonderful and weird feel-good show (and short, because British.... 🤩), you guys should definitely add it to your list. 🙂

dys

Dedra is a deeply, irredeemably evil person, but we still love her putting Syril's mom in her place. I don't know why human nature makes us like someone incredibly evil like Dedra more than someone like Syril's mom who is just kind of petty and gaslighty.

Yannick, from Montréal

The number of 1st time watchers that don't get that Brasso faked his anger towards his host to save him when he got arrested is staggering. But, as I expected, you saw right through it!

Roland

I appreciated the Ted Lasso T-shirt, go Shockers! 🤣🤩

D Gyre

alright, let's go! Just so you know I'm watching these in threes as well, so I'm waiting for all three to drop and then watching them all, will do this for all of them

Lola Lirola

Pleats were having a moment, so some influence did seep through!

Joshua Taylor

Denise Gough hits out of the park in this series. She’s so lovely in real life with her Irish accent and anecdotes about how her family always calling her out for her infamous frown.

dys

Aww, I hope she gets to be in some stuff playing a nice character. I’m sure she’s lovely.

James Anthony

What breaks my heart about b2 this episode is how the cycle repeats, and he’s left all alone again with a woman who lost her significant other, just like maarva.

Michael Bennett

Coupling has some of the best belly laughs ever. It's like Friends, but more episodic, you don't have to invest as much in the drama of it.

Roland

I think he's (only, so far) in the upcoming series of Slow Horses. On which note, Slow Horses should definitely be on the lads' list, it's a marvelous show. 🙂

Michael Bennett

I think it's human nature to be supportive of people who fight for their beliefs and fight for those they care about (in whatever strange way they are capable of caring, lol). Dedra comes from the kinderblock, she must truly believe that the Empire provides for the unfortunate and protects people from the dangerous rebels. You can see how she's maniacal about going after Luthen, but doesn't really want to have anything to do with the Ghorman project.

Joshua Taylor

Dedra is basically Hitler Youth, only indoctrinated from early childhood, maturing into an SS officer.

Youtalkingtome

I think it's such a fun performance that I'm excited every time her and Syril are on screen

Youtalkingtome

Oh okay thank you! I thought it was this year, it must have been pushed

Paul T Hewes

She is also a dedicated human rights activist. Very into the cause of the Gaza people.

Paul T Hewes

His actor is in a decent sized role in House of the Dragon currently.

Perrin, Mon's husband, had a look of concern on his face as he danced at the end. He knew something was wrong. He may be an insufferable prat, but he knew that much...

Joshua Taylor

I mean she is also the VA of Yennefer of Venderberg in The Witcher games so that counts as a good guy…kind of lol.
